I was hoping no one would mention those AB Groupe Movies. I remember when I bought them, I was like, "OMFG, DBZ DVD's!!!"
I was extremely disappointed to say the least.
By the way everyone, I do already have a Multi-Region player, I was more trying to say that sometimes, importing is a hassle, as I have had numerous bad experiences.
One thing I should mention, while browsing in Cash Converters, I did see a preowned DBZ DVD. It was in fact this very one.

I did look on the back to see that it was in fact the FUNimation dub.
The shop that it was from before still had their old price tag. (Left Legged Pineapple, a brilliant independant record shop)
So, were they just importing the DVD's themselves and selling them, do you think?

First off, that has nothing to do with this thread, and I find it insulting.
And secondly, Have you ever BEEN in Cash Converters? I picked up Tekken 6 for £13, 2 weeks after it came out.

Just some friendly banter, relax. :)
I have indeed been to Cash Converters, and have picked up some absolute steals (Kingdom Hearts 1+2 for 3 quid).

Damn, and that place sounds cool. But the only place in the US that has any of them is in Pennsylvania... Ugh.

But for DB Releases... hmmn. Yeah I guess it would be hard for a company to get a license since Toei is a pain in the a** to work with for anything. Not just Dragon Ball, either. I read on how this Transformers DVD release had an episode of a Japan-only TV sequel to the 80's TF cartoon, but Toei would only give the animation, but not the audio, so it just had a commentary track. Yeah. Imports gonna have to be the only way.

It's anything but. Call me a snob, but I always make sure to leave as soon as I possibly can.
It's filled with chavs (not just the customers), and stinks of smoke. The Customer Service look like they're either going to stab you up, or ask if you've got any change.
But I'm getting way off topic, apologies. :)

Oh. I knew there was a catch for such savings... but even then in the US it probably wouldn't stink of smoke at least (well i guess since its in Pennsylvania, you never know)
EDIT: Well, Wikipedia calls it a type of pawnbroker... So its basically a chain Pawn Shop. Then nevermind. Oh and I'm also srry for the off topic...

Maybe that's just where you live. Here, less than half of the customers are Chavs, the store smells of lemon, and the customer service has this delightful Irish gentleman, and a cool chick I talk to about Anime (who also reserves DVD's for me).
But like you said, off topic, let's get back on.

I'm probably going to be importing the Dragon Boxes, seeing as though they're the best available releases, but I am going to be sending Toei, FUNimation, and Ocean an e-mail about the situation (Which will likely go unread)

Ocean are dubbing Dragonball Kai, so I still have some kind of hope that it will be making it to DVD, because they did in an interview, sort of humor FUNi for not caring about UK and AU/NZ. They said, it's like they think we speak a different language.

Che? Australia and New Zealand have gotten every single FUNimation Dragon Ball release so far(except the Dragon Boxes).

Well I meant the airing of DBZ Kai, that's what Ocean were reffering to.
That just makes me mad. As much as i love my family in New Zealand, the UK seriously should have gotten those releases first. I don't think they can even bullshit with the "No demand" excuse. I know a dozen people who would snap it right up, and I'm not a guy that knows a lot of people.

EDIT: Don't tell me you guys got Kai on TV as well.....

Oh, a thread about the UK.

Yeah, we're probably never gonna get DBZ. DBZ Kai, maybe.

Also, do we know any more info on the Ocean dub of Kai? Or is this just guesswork
