The Complete FUNimation Dragon Ball Song Collection
Edit: Due to the closure of Megaupload and the continued presence of SOPA, PIPA, ACTA, etc, all links have been removed from this post as I no longer have any interest in allowing these files to remain on the internet under my watch. I hope those who enjoyed these will continue to do so and that they will continue to support the series with the upcoming releases of DBK Parts 7 and 8.
With Dragon Ball Kai continuing to be released and Dragon Soul recieving a new cover in each DVD release, I thought the time would be right in order for me to finally compile a complete song collection of everything they have either re-dubbed or re-created from the original Japanese version. Now, this list does not include any songs that was released in an official audio format (such as their original songs for Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z), as well as any original material for the series. This is also the first place you can expect to find an update on the singers, song writers and mp3s for material just released. Also, all the mp3s in this list have been updated from all past uploads, so they sound much better than the original mp3s I uploaded long ago. I admit that the Kai list is not yet complete but once it is, you will finally be able to listen to a clean version of "Over the Star". Sorry to keep you waiting for that one for so long!

Do you need a 320 kbps version of Vic's DVD version of Dragon Soul? I can probably rip it for you tomorrow or Friday.

This is Great Thank you!!!

These are great, thanks so much.
Any reason why they didn't dub the insert songs in the movies? It's neat having instrumental versions, but it makes the scenes feel empty.

Re: The Complete FUNimation Dragon Ball Song Collection
If you could send me the raw VOB file for it from the clean opening animation section of the disc, as well as the Ginyu Force scene, I would be quite greatful. So thank you in advance, I look forward to getting that file sooner or later.xzero wrote:Do you need a 320 kbps version of Vic's DVD version of Dragon Soul? No problem, I did say I'd get this done at some point, just took longer than I thought it would. The mods should allow it though due to the fact these have never recieved an audio release and some of these files (The GT Karaokes, the cleaner insert songs, etc) could not be ripped by the usual fan and I don't mind helping out here and there. I would like to link the videos (which have timed lyrics and all that fun stuff) but even if I credit FUNimation in those, I may leave them out of this thread completely.Piccolo Daimaoh wrote:Thanks so much! No problem, it's nice to be told I'm good at this kind of thing! I would guess the reason why the insert songs weren't dubbed was due to the fact they were made for the double features only and they probably didn't want to bring in Gohan's actress just to sing these two songs. Leaving them as instrumentals would be cheaper in the long run.Mosaic wrote:These are great, thanks so much.

Re: The Complete FUNimation Dragon Ball Song Collection
Thanks for posting these. I love the English dub Dragon Ball opening.
Re: The Complete FUNimation Dragon Ball Song Collection
I'll get you the .vob files tomorrow at some point.
Also, I believe Chuck Huber stated in the Movie 1 commentary on the UUE disc that it was a conscious choice not to dub the song because it was too weird. I don't want to put words in his mouth, so if anyone knows the exact quote, feel free to correct me. I think the Movie 1 & 2 songs are just things that wouldn't have worked too well in English.

Isn't that the charm of the movie songs though? They're completely out of nowhere songs. Even funnier in the original dub, because it randomly changes to Japanese singing.
Re: The Complete FUNimation Dragon Ball Song Collection
I ran into a bit of a snag. I was able to rip the .vob files, and I extracted a 320kbps version of Vic's Dragon Soul, but for the Ginyu Force song, the disc is encoded so that all of the episodes make up one .vob file, and it's over a gig in size, meaning I couldn't upload it anywhere. Anyone know how to just rip the .vob file for the second half of the episode in which the Ginyu Force arrives on Namek (the part with the song)?

Re: The Complete FUNimation Dragon Ball Song Collection
Actually, I know how to do this, as that was how I was able to rip the insert song from episode 17. It would be far easier if you used what I use anyway because I'd rather re-encode the files myself so send me a PM and/or add me on one of the many messaging programs I use and we'll work something out. I think that would be the best plan of action anyway!xzero wrote:I ran into a bit of a snag.
