Is the audio of the R1 dragon box that much different than the R2's? I have all four but haven't got around to watching them yet. What about the 2 disc Dragonball episodes releases and the blue bricks?
The release from FUNimation isn't a 'Dragon Box' release.
I know the movie one release isn't a 'Dragon Box' release, I'm talking about the release of the Z series.
I wanted a mission, and for my sins, they gave me one.

The FUNimation Dragon Box sets' audio is essentially identical to their Japanese counterparts, with the only exception being that they're encoded at a lower bitrate (96 kbps mono versus a redundant 448 kbps stereo).

That's the Z TV series, though, and pretty irrelevant to this product -- this is a totally separate master, and thus the giant discrepancy between it and the Dragon Box version. The movies also have a significantly more awesome mix than the TV series, since they had a much higher quality master to work with (much like the movies' video transfer, too).

Yes. It really is that different of "quality". Amazing, huh?
