I'd say Taopaipai's murder of General Blue using only his tongue. I think the method itself is enough to make anyone go

Best death
What do you think is the best death in Dragon Ball?

Anytime when a giant mech goes down in Dragonball.
Re: Best death
When Yajirobe killed Cymbal, seeing Cymbal get sliced in half and eaten was cool.
Re: Best death
Vegeta dying on Namek is by far the most epic death in all of Dragonball. Ever..

Agreed. Setting aside that I'm a Vegeta fan, it was powerful. You wouldn't expect a powerful, cold hearted guy just crying when he's about to die. Also truly set Freeza high up on cruelty meter...p123 wrote:Vegeta dying on Namek is by far the most epic death in all of Dragonball. Ever..

For all the bullshit required to force it into being, Piccolo's death in GT was pretty awesome.
Honorable mention for Goku's "death" in the explosion of Namek.

Re: Best death
100% percent agreed with you...It was very emotional. I think Goku's death in the Cell Games was almost getting to Vegeta's level, but the return of Cell kind of muddled everything up.
I rememeber seeing Goku's face, so calm, so happy that his son did as well as he could, all on his way to death, it was very moving. But yes, Vegeta's moment is the best one in the series...

Re: Best death
Vegeta death in Namek, and later the pseudo-death of Goku on Namek.
However, I can't take Goku death in the Cell games serious. It doesn't make much sense...

Re: Best death
Majin Vegeta's death. It chokes me up everytime, especially the think with Trunks and Goten and the convo with Piccolo right beforehand. It was done for everyone else, not just him.
And I dare someone else to blast themselves into stone.

Kuririn's first death.
I didn't remember it being so emotional. The anime really builds it up, and not in a particularly corny way. I got through that part of the series with my girlfriend over winter break, and knowing that she had no idea what was coming was just ... geez. It really hits you, and it's so completely unexpected at that point in the series.

Cell's death is the most epic, powerful and well animated. Plus the English dub score for it is sublime.
Simian upstart...none surpass me. No one even comes close! BURN THIS INTO YOUR MIND! I am emperor of the universe. The likes of you are only fit to grovel at my feet. Or better still...to be crushed...LIKE AN INSECT AT THE WHIM OF YOUR MASTER!

Bora´ s death,to me it was the most powerful and it was one of the few things I remembered from when I first watched DB as a kid.I remember how it affected me,prior to that I never thought about losing a parent wa even possible,it awakened all kinds of fears inide me,wich made Bora´s revival an even more happy moment to me.This is just me of course

The all mighty Chaoz blasted himself into ashes, and a Saibaiman blasted himself into slime. It's not like it's something new.LeprikanGT wrote: And I dare someone else to blast themselves into stone.
The whole emotional spectrum is the same with Chaoz's self-destruct, but people tend to like Vegeta's more for some strange reason.

I think it's a combination of:Godo wrote:[...]but people tend to like Vegeta's more for some strange reason.
More screentime
More Character development

The whole deal with Vegeta starting out, as this evil bastard, who finally started to fight for someone other than himself.
Also the buildup was much better, than when Chaozu selfdestructed. Chaozu just did it without having any buildup for it at all.
Re: Best death
Chiaotzu is just weird... Besides Tenshinhan, nobody likes him. Not even Toriyama.Godo wrote:The all mighty Chaoz blasted himself into ashes, and a Saibaiman blasted himself into slime. It's not like it's something new.LeprikanGT wrote: And I dare someone else to blast themselves into stone.

And the Saibaimen were designed to be owned.
Re: Best death
Chao-zu did have some screentime before Z. He was an established character at that point. So when I read it, it was a teardrop moment. I actually mourn more for his death there than Vegeta the bastard.dbgtFO wrote:I think it's a combination of:Godo wrote:[...]but people tend to like Vegeta's more for some strange reason.

Re: Best death
Well yeah, he was an established character, but he hadn't really done much noteworthy beforehand and didn't have any real character development IMO, as opposed to Vegeta going from what he was in the Saiyajin Arc to what he became in the Boo Arc.Godo wrote:Chao-zu did have some screentime before Z. Although those examples I listed didn't actually apply to what I feel about the characters. That's just some examples for why people in general prefer Vegeta's self destruction over Chaozu's.
