So all of Gohan beating up Freeza was cut but parts of Freeza beating up Gohan weren't? That's strange as hell.

Yea, yea it's very odd. I think the edits are getting worse though. The earlier episodes didn't have this many edits. Also, they were allowed to say different variations of the word "die" and just edit some of them. But not now.

Hell, the death edits are so bad now that they're not even allowed to say things like, "he's still alive". What, because the inclusion of words regarding "life" are automatically implying the alternative of "death", and thus can't be mentioned? These edits are truly ridiculous.

Regardless who's causing the edits, it's hypocritical.

If Nicktoons is the one behind it, it's hypocritical since they allowed it before and Avatar STILL allows mentions of death.

If Funimation is the one behind it..... well.... WTF?

Note: Hopefully, it doesn't remain like this. Goku says to Frieza "Because of YOU, even KRILLIN is gone!" so maybe it was just a temporary phase and they'll get back to atleast implying death soon enough.

I think we're gonna assume that they extensive edits now so, are so they don't have to re-edit for Toonzai.

Yea that's what I was thinking too. Toonzai still does three things this version doesn't though - paint Mr.Popo blue, digitally draw eyes on dead people and add sparks to people exploding. Hopefully Nicktoons dosen't do this later.

This is.... interesting. I'm guessing they only allowed this shot because it wasn't big enough to make out the details?

Wow it seems they are cutting out pretty much half the episode these days.

It must seem like absolute nonsense to people who are watching for the first time.
Whole fights are just disappearing.

Yea, pretty much. There was another shot like that left in because it was too small to show any real detail...

I know Krillin fading into the sea wasn't cut either.

They seemed to also censor out the damage in Krillin's armor as he's falling, though that may have just been because of the blood.

Image

A few minutes into the episode Freeza taunts Piccolo, Piccolo responds...

Image

A few moments later, Freeza and Piccolo engage in some awesome hand to hand combat. Sadly though, you wouldn't know it if you watched it on Nicktoons. They take out pieces here and there and whatever's left, they edit with a flash.

Image

This next scene was just one of those typical "barrage of punches" scenes, then Piccolo kicks Freeza in the face. Don't know why this was all edited out, they could have just moved the already existing flash during the kick and just moved it a few seconds earlier like they usually do. Oh well.

Image

Then another barrage scene cut...

Image

Freeza eventually gets the upper hand and holds Piccolo against a mountain side. The close up shot of Piccolo is cut out

Image

A close up of Freeza is also cut, followed by Piccolo moving his head...

Image

Next Freeza starts blasting Piccolo. A close up of Freeza and a shot of the energy blasts are cut out...

Image

After the dust settles and it's clear Piccolo is OK, they start fighting yet again. Sometime during this scene Freeza tail slaps Piccolo...

Image

They both plumit into the water as they're fighting, a shot of Freeza chocking Piccolo is edited out...

Image

When Freeza emerges from the water, no Piccolo in sight, he tells Gohan...

Image

Piccolo eventually emerges and tells Freeza he's about to show him his true power. Piccolo rushes him and punches him in the face...

Image

Piccolo torpedoes himself into Freeza's stomach, this isn't edited with a flash or given a white screen, they just barley put a flash of white. It's odd.

Image

Piccolo then gives him a swift kick...

Image

Piccolo then torpedoes himself again into Freeza's body, in the Nicktoons version though, Piccolo gets tail smacked...

Image

Freeza then throws powerful energy beam at Piccolo, he deflects it and throws his own ki blast into the mix. This hits Freeza, but in the Nicktoons version there is a slight cut, I guess because it looks like it could be blood? It happens so fast though, you wouldn't notice anyway...

Image

Freeza comes out of it with very little damage. From here until he transforms into his third form, there is a bit of blood on his face that's been edited out....

Image

Piccolo and Freeza have a dramatic stare down for a moment, then Freeza breaks the silence with a punch to the face...

Image

Followed by a elbow to the face...

Image

And finally a punch into the ground...

Image

When Piccolo emerges from the dirt, he is edited for blood for a few moments, when he takes his cape and head gear off, all his blood is gone.

Image

Piccolo yells to Freeza...

Image

Piccolo gets the upper hand with his new speed, and throws Freeza into the ground. After he does that he throws a barrage of ki blasts for good measure. This was edited out...

Image

As Freeza emerges from the barrage, he tells Piccolo he has two more transformations. He decides to transform and tells Piccolo...

Image

Note: Piccolo's blood magically appears on his face again until the newly transformed Freeza gives chase a few moments later. It's all been edited.

As Goku feels Freeza's power, he talks about how he might not be able to stand a chance against Freeza, before he goes into this though, he says...

Image

Piccolo is pretty confident in his own speed, but when Freeza catches up to Piccolo, he says to himself...

Image

Freeza says to Piccolo...

Image

Freeza now goes on the attack and kicks Piccolo in the back...

Image

Then there's a few seconds cut of Piccolo getting his ass kicked...

Image

Note: After this beat down, Piccolo has blood on his face and body until the end of the episode. It's edited out of for the TV version.

Feeling out classed, Piccolo says to himself...

Image

Freeza hit's him with one little blast, then another, and Piccolo thinks to himself "He's too fast", this reaction shot was cut out...

Image

Freeza then blasts Piccolo with an endless array of tiny little blasts. Now, in the uncut version they go back and forth between shots showing Piccolo getting blasted. In the TV version the shots are all edited out except the very last one during the narrators speech during the episode wrap up. That shot though isn't animated. I wasn't going to put each and every shot so...

Image

Gohan can't stand to watch this anymore and rushes toward Freeza, Krillin tries to stop Gohan and yells...

Image

The episode ends very soon after this. This ends the last comparison until March. I will be posting all future episodes over on the site, I'll let people here know when that happens in this thread. See ya!

So there is no fighting in US TV version :D
What a crap :D
FighterZ, Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat: Funky_Strudel
PS5: Dynamixx88
Trust me, I'm millenial and a designer.

My thoughts exactly.
At this point they are cutting out entire fights.

What's the point of airing this shit?

No way in hell this is Nicktoons' doing, the ki blasts aren't even imitable and they're getting cut out. Damnit, Funimation. WTF are you doing? >: (

What is the difference between saying "scum" and saying "worms" and for that matter what is with all the edits. Punches and kicks are understandable but Ki Blasts? As I have posted before these edits are just getting worst and worst. Thanks for the comparisons as usual Tanooki. The comparison of Part 4 in March should be very interesting.

Remember when Nappa called Goku a scum sucking pig? Those were the days. Damn you, Funimation. =(

Why is everyone suddenly accusing FUNimation of all of the edits now?

Because the edits are bull. Avatar: TLAB, for example, gets away with far too much to suggest it's a Nicktoons problem.

Was the idea that they're double editing for 4Kids ever debunked?

No. Infact, their sudden editing of scum (Which was edited in the Toonzai version in the Saiyan saga) would actually support the theory. It sucks, Nicktoons deserves better than this and so do the people watching it. Hell, My Life as a Teenage Robot has a character called Kill Gore, I highly doubt the network is demanding these edits.
