Dragonball Z Back on TV in Denmark!
Dragonball Z Back on TV in Denmark!
Dragonball Z is back on TV in Demark, at DR Ramasjang, Monday to Friday at 2:30 PM. After many years not having been broadcasted (probably something like 10 years), and personally I am very exited because I absolutely adored the dub. The series got dubbed until aproximately the point where Goku turned Super Saiyan if I am to believe what I heard from people in Demark, and there is no word on how many episodes will be on air at this TV channel.
What I am kind of worried about is that this might be a censored version v.s the one that Denmark got earlier, since the channel is aimed towards kids that are 3-10 years old.

That is nice! I never got to see all the episodes back in the day, so it coming back is certainly good news.
Though I wonder, how censored it's going to be, since I'm pretty sure the french version, which the dub was based on also had some censorship edits.

Good news. I remember that the dub was constantly swinging in quality going from great ones such as Freezer to just plain atrocious ones. The danish versions of the movies had terrible dubs. The actress who played J18 in the Mirai Gohan OVA couldn't be more bothered to give a damn about the dub and comes off as monotonous and joyless rather than sadistic and childish. I've been trying to hunt down the Danish version of the Brolly movies, but to no avail.

Well, that was because the movie dubs were based off the big green dubs.Shoryuken wrote:The danish versions of the movies had terrible dubs. The Scripts are also almost identical.

They actually do include the Japanese audio. The only problem is that the subs are based off the Big Green dub script which in turn is poorly translated in some areas.dbgtFO wrote: Damn, I actually thought they included the JP audio.

Well, they left the part where Piccolo kills Goku and Raditz at the same time uncensored, at least at the first time it got broadcast, and the script was based on either the japanese script, or a script closely to the manga.

Updated topic with a bit more spesific details...

Yeah, but wasn't it the french footage they had access to?sangofe wrote:Well, they left the part where Piccolo kills Goku and Raditz at the same time uncensored, at least at the first time it got broadcast, and the script was based on either the japanese script, or a script closely to the manga.
I believe I remember some episodes, where there were obvious edits like when Piccolo faces 50% Freeza the fight was edited out, so Piccolo goes from just having arrived at the battlescene to be completely beat up in a matter of seconds.

Re: Dragonball Z Back on TV in Denmark!
Apparantly, the first episode started airing monday this week, at least according to danish youtube users that have left comments at my youtube page. Is anyone here recording this, or can tell us how these episodes compare to the original run?

Yes, there's an (English) AB Groupe dub of DB movies 1~3, DBZ movies 1~9 (probably 10~13 also), DBZ TV SP 1~2, DBGT TV SP, and probably the 10th anniversary movie.Daimo-Rukiri wrote:There's a big green Broli

It can be watched on the official website under the "live Ramasjang" section:

I'm currently watching and it's the episode where Vegeta and Nappa arrive on Planet Arlia.
