To be honest, I'm probably nowhere near as angry as I appeared. I"m mostly just annoyed, isn't it just as stupid that they're censoring out ki blasts and getting rid of anything remotely pointing to morality when they previously okayed it multiple times?

That's fine. I'm not saying you're wrong for saying how you feel. Just that, I didn't think I was anywhere near as anoyed as you were.

Yet, I'm "going crazy" about it? Sorry for finding these edits ridiculous and unnecessary. I'm a fan of Nicktoons in general and it irks me to see Funimation give them crap like this.

Going slightly off topic, this is something that confuses me about the dub in general. Why do some attack names have to be changed to English, like Special Beam Cannon and Destructo Disc, when others get to stay intact, like Kiaoken and Kamehameha Wave? Seems kind of random and it can't be because Ocean Group made them English and they had to keep it like that, because the Spirit Bomb came into existence the same period of time as Kiaoken. :?

People are comparing the Z Kai edits to Avatar when there's a different show that has a much darker tone. If anyone's seen Danny Phantom they'll know what I mean. For example, in The Ultimate Enemy, they basically say that Danny's friends and family die in an explosion. Also, during that same flash back, they outright say that Dark Danny pretty much murdered his human half. Add on to that is you can assume he's committed more murder over the 10 years he was evil. This aired on regular Nick. It may have been in 05 but they also show Danny Phantom on NickToons. So, I think that's a problem if they can have a show on their channel that has that tone in some episodes, why can't Z Kai's edits be lighter. I honestly call bull shit on the whole "They only edit it once for NickToons and CW." If that's true, I can say the NickToons version would have much more. Like Blue Popo. They'd have to do that edit for both versions.

The DBZ Kai marathon on Nicktoons just started, leading up to a premiere episode.

So they kept it in after all...Vegeta saw Goku as an SSJ...I wouldn't have thought it'd be hard to edit that out...but I guess it was a time killer for the episode...w/e..New episode was great. Frieza's voice as usual was spot on. One maybe two episodes left in the Namek Arc, depending on how long their willing to make it last. I haven't watched the Japanese Version, so idk

Nah. Nicktoons already has those episodes on it's site, they probably got them from there.

Haha yeah I think this is kinda proof this stuff drags on for awhile even in the manga. Which I think at the time wouldn't have been an issue but knowing there's 2 entire sagas ahead makes people a bit antsy to move on.

(Er...2 assuming the Boo saga is covered of course.)

What's the first clip you linked to a clip of? I would try looking at it, but guess what loveable group beginning with the first two letters of the alphabet have blocked it from the UK again...

EDIT: Never mind, I deduced it from my own watching that it's Gokuu finishing his fight with Freeza. And of course it would be that clip that they would block...

They couldn't edit it out becuse it shows Vegata being teleported off Namek.
They did however remove the plot hole of Vegeta's surprise when Gohan talks about his Dad being a Super Saiyan.

They just cut Vegeta's reaction.

But is it really necessary for us to see him being physically teleported? I think that is just an insult to our intelligence. The wish was made clear, "Bring back everyone who Freeza killed," and we clearly see Vegeta rise from his grave and walk about. Is it necessary for us to see him physically teleport? The wish was clearly "Teleport everyone except Goku and Freeza," obviously that includes Vegeta.

I think it was unbelievably stupid of Toei to keep that filler. It just feels really out of place considering the way Vegeta behaves later on.

Think of everything happening in those 5 minutes but showing everything individually, like when they flash to something beside the main fight, pretend the time restarts until the fight resumes.

This seems like a sloppy edit to me. What's with Frieza bending over? Couldn't they have left in him turning around to see the disc but cut out as it hits him or is this an edit made to the Japanese version? It also seems a little sloppy to see him flying through the air then cut to "hitting" the ground, I would've added a reaction shot of Goku to atleast make it smoother.

Warning: Stupid and pointless censorship rant ahead:

*Sigh*, I really hate some of the censorship here. Not that I'm againest censorship or anything like that, I just only like it when 1. Its done appropriately, and 2. An uncensored alternative is released along side with the censored version. Out of all the censored versions of DB that I know of, I believe the Cartoon Network version did the best job at it. If my memories stand correct, I believe they kept most of the blood and most of the hard hits were unchanged, hell they even ran the the first 2 seasons of DBZ uncut (with a TV-PG rating) during the "Ultimate Uncut" era. Some of the edits in the Nicktoons/Toonzai versions (especially the "idiot, jerk, etc", mention of death, hard hit, and Blue Popo edits) annoy me so much that it just makes me wish this got aired on Cartoon Network instead (Have you seen some of their recent shows lately? I've heard a couple of "Crap" and "Sucks" in shows like Regular Show and Mad), but since Cartoon Network appears to be annoying anime lately (except for Bleach and Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood on their late night Aduit Swim block), it just makes me more pissed.

I hate the hard hit edits because most of them are cuted out sloppy, which I bet a lot of kids who saw those scenes probably thought "Um, what just happened?", and with kids playing Call of Duty, Halo, Grand Theft Auto, and other violent video games these days, hard hit edits seem pretty pointless to me. The mention of death edits are even worse, because every kids show I've seen (other then anime on kid channels, *cough 4Kids cough*) mentions and even shows death all the time (I've even heard a couple mentions of "Suicide" and even a mention of "Sliding Throats" in Disney movies). Besides, I dont think there's a single 7-year old kid in this world who has never heard or have acknowledge of death. And with Blue Popo on Toonzai, I think I'm going to hear a lot of kids argueing about which color Popo is (it will be "Han Shot First" all over again).

Okay, I'm done.

So, we're just going to talk about something that's already being discussed in the Kai general discussion thread? Thanks guys! Really helps show that we pay attention to posts that actually have a good statement/question.

I didn't upload those, AniNation7 did:

He's also uploaded clips of some of the edits from the Nicktoons and Toonzai versions too.

Because you asked, did they keep the "What's a Goku?" line? I didn't see the episode.
