It's true. Most people blame FUNi for Kai being the way it is. If you look around YouTube, you can usually see comments like:

"Kai sucks. It's way too fast-paced. FUNi butchered it so it would go faster!"

"FUNi can't afford to get the older voice actors back because they're cheap assholes!!"

"The theme song is hella gay! It talks about foes being all around and giving love. I like the one song that was going 'dragon dragon dragon dragon Dragon Ball Z!'"

"Bruce Faulconer did music for the ORIGINAL DBZ!! Why does FUNi have to change it to this lame trumpet shit?!"

Just like that, but with terrible grammar.

I don't ever read YouTube comments about Kai so I've never heard any of that.

I think I'm glad for it.

Well... shit.

This pretty much all but officially confirms it. I'm going to go cry myself into a coma.

I really hate to say this considering the current state of the anime industry, but if the series really is wrapping up just now, then I'm glad I didn't/won't buy any of the DVDs. Incomplete series are a real bitch... That's why I don't buy much Viz stuff.
Nothing matters (in a cosmic sense.) Have a good time.

Maybe that's why Viz doesn't release all series completely.

Joking aside, if you truly hate when series are not released completely then you should actually support the series. Get others to support it too. Simply boycotting it won't get them to release more, in fact it gives them more of a reason to not finish the series.

Kei17 said that Gohan VS Cell was the climax of Kai. Climax does not mean the end.

Well, the series is 'complete'. All ninety-eight episodes will be released by Toei. The Rurôni Kenshin anime didn't cover all of the comic but it is still 'complete'.

Ok can someone sum up what we actually know?

Other than Toriko taking the time-slot have we had any official word?

He said "Gohan vs Cell, the climax of Dragon Ball Kai". Climiax doesn't mean it ends, but to me, it seems that he is talking on the basis that Kai ends soon.
It's another nail amongst many others in the coffin.

Don't forget, the Climax is just the peak, it's rarely the end. There's still the falling action, and conclusion. Sounds like the Buu Saga to me. But, even if not, I can't see Funi letting it end there, even if they have to pay a bit for it.

I said "another nail in the coffin" not "the absolute and unquestionable burial of said coffin." ;) Even so, one could call Trunks' return to the future the 'end of Dragon Ball Kai' is Gohan v. Cell doesn't count as such.

Well, if they really are planning to include the Boo Arc, then why would they call the Gohan vs Cell fight the climax of DBK?

I don't think DB being as long as it is has a definite climax(rather a climax per story arc) and would anyone really consider Gohan's fight vs. Cell the climax of DBZ? and that everything isn't as exciting from there on out?

Well the climax is usually the point in the story where you don't know what's going to happen next, meaning it's usually most exciting. The falling action does not necessarily have to to be boring, many stories have made it the most entertaining part. One could say the Boo arc is the falling action and the 28th Budokai is the resolution.

To me, it seems the guy is just fangasming over Gohan vs Cell and not talking about the end of the series.

I would say that too, but then he could mean its the end. :x This makes my head want to explode!
"Perfect" is the enemy of the good. True for Cell and true for real life.

Buu not being represented in Kai would defeat one of the supposed central aspects of this re-imagining, but the more I think about it the more I think Gohan defeating Cell is the perfect conclusion to the series. I won't be dissapointed either way really.
