"Ultimate Uncut Edition" DVDs Discussion
Cool a He-Man avatar.
Well considering they could earn extra money re-releasing them,
and we are talking about Funimation,
who has sqeeshed ever possible penny out of Dragonball (who could blame them).
It actually seems quite likely to me.
And when taking that point they may even re-release the complete Freeza saga,
that seems to be the only saga without a boxset.
But offcourse they might not

There's no way they'd re-release the Freeza saga, there's no point unless they'd do a 98% accurate and faithful redub with the original music, and even then only the extreme hardcore dubbies would even consider getting a re-release of the Freeza saga, if there's anything they Might redub of their own voice cast, it may be the Ginyu saga. However I highly doubt it. And by the way buddy, you may want to type more along the line of Mike EX's rules, otherwise he'll have your ass out faster than DBZ dumped Lunch.denitonis wrote:Cool a He-Man avatar.

And denitonis, you may want to spell-check your posts before putting them up, for EX sees everything.

This is perhaps a common question around the release of new dvds, but I will ask it anyhow. What is the story on the release date confusion and which is the most accurate source?
The insert in Uncut Volumes 2 & 3 states that Volumes 4 & 5 will be released August 2nd, I believe. A trailer on Volume 2 says that Volume 4 will be released on July 19th, and I just checked amazon.com and its release dates are August 8th for Volume 4 and October 4th for Volume 5.
"What's up with that?"

they well most likely rerelease the freeza saga for 2 big reasons first the disc's dont work on ps2, xbox dvd players and its the only saga they havent made a box set for, and there has to be a reason for that
but about the vegeta saga box set, it will only cover 1-21 if they continue 3 episodes per disc and the title of the box set is vegeta saga 1 so the other 14 episodes will be in another box set titled vegeta saga II and the only logical way to release those episodes on disc would be 2 disc with 4 episodes and 2 disc's with 3 episodes to to complete the 35 episode saga with 2 box sets.

They do have it. It's looking to be a consistent theme with FUNimation, atleast for the Ultimate Uncut releases, any how.Master_Roshi wrote:hey,
Now that 3 "Ultimate Uncut Ed." have been released, does anyone know if the 2nd and 3rd volumes have the Spanish dub? or is the first volume the only one that includes it?

How many disc's are the Namek Saga going to have. I plan on buying them all, but I am not quite sure how many disc's there are to this one saga. If anyone know's please tell me. These Vol really confuse me, and the Suncoast Video I went to, only has about Three Namek saga disc's, and the guy there said they don't know when they will get more.
I will also most likely buy the Freeza saga in Ultimate Uncut as well. Hopefully there won't be an insane amount of Disc's in that one saga either.

It's hard to say. I believe there are like 8 VHS tapes in the series, with 3 episodes a piece, so that might equel 8 dvds then, unless the number of episodes fluctuates between three, and four.Super Saiyan Turlast x4 wrote:How many disc's are the Namek Saga going to have. And as far as Freeza goes, it's highly unlikely it will be added to the Ultimate Uncut series, as it's available uncut on about 10 DVD's already. (I believe it's 10, it might even be 9, I can't remember, and all of my dvds are packed right now so I can't verify.)
Also, I believe that the ultimate uncut will only extend to the last episode of the Ginyu Tokusentai story arc.
To conclude on disc count, I would say that the Vegeta Saga/Saiyan Conflict will top out about 8 discs, as well as (an assumed) 8 discs for Namek, and then (possibly) one, or two discs for the Ginyu Tokusentai; so the most reasonable answere I can give you, with the circumstances, is about 14 for Vegeta/Namek, and then a possible 15, or 16, depending on what else is done.
Don't take the numbers to heart though, as the disc count could change in the future, and since we're only just coming up on Vol 7 of the Vegeta arc on DVD, it's almost too early to tell exact figures.
Hopefully this helps you in some small way.
So... concerning the uncut edition DVDs, and maybe Dragonball Z DVDs in general... has anyone found any loose discs for these releases? Because I certainly have. I just picked up volume 4, and I found the disc sitting in the insert clip (a problem which I believe I complained about on this very site, back in the day) I'm just worried that I'll end up reliving my "Fusion-Saga Boxset" dilema, in which I pretty much threw away a hundred dollars and went through 4 seperate boxsets (picking and choosing the discs that weren't damaged, much like a carton of delicious eggs.)
Anyway, I got sidetracked. Does Funimation do anything about damaged discs, or do I have to deal with Best Buy again?
Also: Yama-Sama? What's up with that?

I find loose dvds frequently, but thats because I usually buy my dvds in bulk, since I don't go out that often. Sometimes I buy 3, or 4 dvds at a time, and usually two of those are loose, but I've never experienced problems with any of them, well, except the first Broly movie, and the Super Android 13 movie. It might actually have something to do with my player though, because all of my DVD's work on my Xbox, but my ps2, and normal dvd player are another matter, as some discs are fuzzy/skippy/etc, and others just wont play at all.707 wrote:So... concerning the uncut edition DVDs, and maybe Dragonball Z DVDs in general... has anyone found any loose discs for these releases? As far as your Fusion set, I am not really sure but, as they say, "shit happens."
And no, I don't think they have any replacement program. And as far as BestBuy is concerned, you would have an easier time giving your cat an enema, than getting them to refund, or replace a dvd.
I got a loose one in Volume 3. Disc was scratched all to hell.. took about 20 minutes of fiddling with my stupid XBox (it has a Thompson drive, which only makes things worse), but eventually it played fine. Still, ticked me off a bit. Only loose DVD I've had in a few years.707 wrote:So... concerning the uncut edition DVDs, and maybe Dragonball Z DVDs in general... has anyone found any loose discs for these releases? Thanks a lot this really help's me. At first I thought they were going to most likely re-release everything in Ultimate Uncut, but after reading your post I am not so confident that anything after the Ginyu Saga will be released for awhile.lost in thought wrote:It's hard to say. I was talkin about the episodes when Recoom and Guldo fought. I am very confused right now though. I believe they will redo the Captain Ginyu disc's in Ultimate Uncut, but outside of that I am not quite sure. The chances of them redoing all of the Ginyu disc's are good, but I don't think they will do redo the Freeza disc's. I will keep my finger's crossed though.
