You know though, I gotta call BS on it really ending at 98 until we get full on "true confirmation".
The fact that Kai is being dubbed in different countries around the world and airing on TV in those countries is a little fishy that'd they'd honestly end after Cell.

He will never show up again, I guess. Toei's got really strict with leaking of information these days. You remember the all leaked images of Dragon Ball Heroes got deleted? He must have been disciplined for that...

I hope he's not gone for good! That'd be awful! :(

I have read through AP's coverage of the most recent Jump Festa about how strict Toei has gotten though.
On hiatus.

If it just ends at Gohan defeating Cell and not showing/finishing Trunks part then that would just be a bad move. Also, if it DOES end (I'm still hoping no) will FUNi show the original Dragon Ball Z in place to finish out the run for Nicktoons or other regions? It only seems fair.

No, Nicktoons will air the final Kai episode, then FUNi will have a commercial saying 'Buy the DVDs!! LOST EPISODES!!!' or something

But jokes aside because simmilar thing in this fashion happened in Hungary, where they stopped at the end of Freeza arc, then started releasing Android arc on VHS and Buu arc continued right after in late night program.

But "lost episodes" implies that they will indeed make those episodes, so I wouldn't mind that, as long as they get made and I can see them at some point.

Quick note: One Piece is taking 2/27 off, apparently. I have to ask...would Dragon Ball Kai also take it off? If Dragon Ball Kai takes 2/27 off then episode #98 should air 3/27, which is the last Sunday of March. Toriko premiers in April, but we don't know the exact date. It could easily be 4/3. Episode #95 was going to air on 2/27, but now it will likely air 3/6, unless it airs with #94 on 2/20.

According to a Kai thread on 2ch, yes. Episode 95 will air on 3/6.

Ah, thanks Kei! That's very interesting, I didn't think we'd see any more breaks after 1/2 through the end of #98, but I guess making #98 air on the last Saturday of March.

I don't suppose there's titles for #94+ out yet? :P

These are the titles. Since I suck at English, please wait until Ashy-kun translates them :P

I can translate these:

Episode 94) Perfect Form Breakdown! This is the Super Iron Fist of Fury

Episode 95) Bye-Bye Everyone! This Is the Only Way To Save the Earth

Heh, don't worry. My translation of #94 was a little clunky anyhow ("Perfect Form Falls! This/These Ultra Iron Fists of Fury"). :P

So Kei, what is your take on this; do you think Kai will end with the Cell games ending?

Now I definitely think so. The biggest reason is the plummeting copyright revenue of the Dragon Ball franchise in recent years. Maybe they will restart Kai purely for the international market, in which Dragon Ball still has a presence.

What do you mean by "copyright revenue"? Do you mean like the sales for the franchise are down over there in Japan?
