The booklet of Soundtrack III & Songs says they recorded the new pieces for the Android arc on April 1st to 2nd, so probably there would be still no music for the Majin Boo arc at this time if Kai should continues. Over-used music and the existence of many unused tracks are just attributed to Yuki Nagasaki, the director of audiography, I guess.JulieYBM wrote:Yeah, I think that's certainly possible. Then again, we're only a few episodes from the end of the series and the editor has continued to use the same selection of music that has been used a dozen times over. I wonder if Yamamoto wrote music for the Majin Boo arc that isn't going to be used with the series likely ending with Cell's defeat...?

Ah, that is interesting. I didn't think that such information was given out, but I suppose that's what we get for not making too big a deal out of the soundtracks' booklets.kei17 wrote:The booklet of Soundtrack III & Songs says they recorded the new pieces for the Android arc on April 1st to 2nd, just a month ago the new arc starts, so there would still be no music for the Buu arc at this time if Kai should continue. Re: Kai OST IV + Kai Complete Song Collection
Some of the unreleased music are bottom layers of the released music.
Episode 2: When Goku tells Raditz that he is not a Saiyan, "Destiny" played, but without the trumpet playing over top.
Episode 6: When Goku tries to overcome the gravity of Kaio's planet, A bass version of "An Isolated Warrior" played. (The music itself is available on FUNI's Kai DVD's when you go to the trailers menu!).
There are two unreleased versions of "Requiem-To Those Who Meet Their End"
Episode 17: All Instrumental, No Vocal
Episode 35: Vocal Only, No Instruments
The music "Creature Of Marvel" has an Orchestral version without the Techno Beat
Episode 56: "Ominous Silence" but without the harmonica (In my opinion, it sounds better).

Re: Kai OST IV + Kai Complete Song Collection
CDJapan now says OST IV has been cancelled.
EDIT: I just checked Amazon Japan, and the listing still says it's slated for release on March 23. Hmm...

That's interesting. Maybe they are going to continue on into the Buu arc and rename this song collection as something else?
On hiatus.

Re: Kai OST IV + Kai Complete Song Collection
To chime in...
Just because something's canceled right now doesn't mean it won't re-surface. Back in 2009 something called the DragonBall Kai Koro-chan Pack was announced and subsequently canceled... but then we got OST 1 announced and *THREE* Koro-chan Packs later on. There was another disc that had the same thing happen with it (it just ended up getting re-scheduled), but I can't place my fingers on that update right now...
Also, even if OST 4 is "canceled"... well, the Complete Song Collection is still on-target for this month...

Yeah, I fail to understand why everyone is making a big deal of OST IV being supposedly cancelled, when everyone was getting worried due to the "Complete Song Collection".VegettoEX wrote:Also, even if OST 4 is "canceled"... well, the Complete Song Collection is still on-target for this month...

Besides, like I said in the EDIT in my previous post, Amazon Japan still says it's slated for release, so I wouldn't give up just yet.

Re: Kai OST IV + Kai Complete Song Collection
Well, assuming the Complete Song Collection would be a compilation of the OST releases, if one bought the other three...they'd now have to buy the CSC to get one CD worth of new material. At least, that's what I'd think. For people like me who generally don't buy anything until everything had been released, it means nada. ;pMetalwario64 wrote:Yeah, I fail to understand why everyone is making a big deal of OST IV being supposedly cancelled, when everyone was getting worried due to the "Complete Song Collection".VegettoEX wrote:Also, even if OST 4 is "canceled"... well, the Complete Song Collection is still on-target for this month...

Re: Kai OST IV + Kai Complete Song Collection
While I understand what you mean, my point was that people are acting like the fourth OST CD being supposedly canceled is another curve-ball in the debate about whether Kai is ending at Cell or not, when it was the "Complete Song Collection", which is still coming out that had people worried.MajinVejitaXV wrote:Well, assuming the Complete Song Collection would be a compilation of the OST releases, if one bought the other three...they'd now have to buy the CSC to get one CD worth of new material. If OST IV is canceled, it doesn't mean anything about Kai ending.

Re: Kai OST IV + Kai Complete Song Collection
I think the cancelation of OST IV [to a later and undetermined time] would signal whether or not Dragon Ball Kai is going to continue on. Toei may want to release it for a potential Majin Boo arc marketing blitz when the time for said arc comes (whether that is in a new timeslot or the original time slot after a twenty-six episode season for Toriko).

Or maybe it's just that they couldn't come up with enough crap to toss on there to justify an entire disc for it...?

Re: Kai OST IV + Kai Complete Song Collection
Well, it was something like thirty unreleased tracks, right? Most of the OST volumes have had the same number of tracks. Barring the pieces being thirty seconds long so I don't necessarily see that wouldn't be worth it, at least going by their "squeeze every damn penny possible" motto for the past several releases of CDs.VegettoEX wrote:Or maybe it's just that they couldn't come up with enough crap to toss on there to justify an entire disc for it...?
