I have all of FUNimation's 4:3 movie discs, if those are of any use to deal with aspect ratio issues. I already have VOBs of DBZ Movie 5 ripped for a personal project.

Yeah, I've got all the 4:3 discs, myself :). Concerned about clarity and color issues with them (as well as poor compression), but they're an option at the very least. Couple editing tricks and styles can make it work, no matter what the source ends up being.

*facepalms* I meant English SUBS! Sorry for that slip up people -.- that's what happens you make a bunch of edits in a rush.

Anyway here's the stuff for the Epilogue:

Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz Talking
Dragon Ball Z TV Series
Episode 104
08:40 to 14:42
Total: 06:02 minutes
There's an eyecatch in the middle.
The song carries on back to the present, creating audio inconsistencies.

Dragon Ball Movies
Movie 11 (Dragon Ball Z Movie 8)
Burn Up!! A Close – Intense – Super-Fierce Battle
22:47 to 24:33
Total: 1:46 minutes
This footage will have song discripancies and it also has Paragus talking over it.
While it would be easier to just cut the audio and substitute it with music, you'll lose dialogue by doing so.

Kinda depends on how it is treated but it can either go where the eyecatch goes in the first footage, or be used as a second epilogue. The second option might be the best choice.

Vegeta and Gourd Banter
Dragon Ball Z TV Series
Episode 62
Goku on Final Approach!
Smash through Freeza's Dragnet
5:35 to 7:23
Total: 1:48 minutes
Now this one is a bit problematic. Vegeta is wearing his first Namek Arc armour, so that's a discripancy right there, plus there'll be song discripancies once again, losing dialogue is a moot point because it would turn pointless.
I'm not sure of what to do with this one... but it might be better to cut it off entirely.

This one is harder to deal with, there's lots of audio problems in it. But hey, there's my opinions on the matter there and the timings so... bleh, I dunno.

The Prologue will be done at a later point, I don't have anymore time right now. Catch you guys later!

I wouldn't use that filth. :P

So you'd rather have abrupt aspect ratio changes or ridiculously zoomed (cropped on both sides) footage? Because that's the only alternative to using the FUNi singles' footage.

Those are hardly the only choices when you have an experienced editor with an artistic vision at the helm :P.

It's called "selective cropping" or "the Kai method."

That might be helpful! Not sure, since it's not like I've slapped any footage together, yet :). Might be useful in splicing unrelated things together, though.
Here you are :)

I swear, you guys are like, magical or something xD if the same is done to the other bits with this problem, we're sorted.

Eyecatches are still gonna be included but just rearranged to diferent spots, right? Couldn't quite make that out from previous posts :P

I personally don't see the point in keeping the eyecatches, but the finally decision rests with the main man.

Edit: Oh and I'm 25 and Mike's a few years older I think, so don't feel bad, lol.

I guess it's just for the aesthetic of it lol. Feels like it would really tie it together.

Totally cool with them being taken out due to how it needs to be organized though. It's totally my uneducated 2 cents on that :P

EDIT: Oh, i didn't mean it as a bad thing at all. It's just that seeing this level of cooperation is already rare outside the interwebs as it is lol

Another one done. This one isn't as good as Broly one though.

BGM-less audio from a flashback in the beginning of DBZ Movie 5.

Honestly, I never thought the eye catches worked that well with the TV Specials anyway. I guess the same could be said of any episode with a lot of serious business, but it just seemed in poor taste during the Trunks special.

Oh God, Gohan just died... HAPPY MUSIC, BABY TRUNKS AND GOHAN (STILL ALIVE) HEADS!
This will never not be my sig:

I can't believe this is on-topic.

True. And i guess Abridged kinda poked fun at that as well (as priceless as it was lol)

Emotional Goku speach to Gohan -» Holds Gohan's hand -» Sudden kick in the gut from Vegeta -» Eyecatch

Never really felt that out of place in the Bardock special though (and i'm pretty sure i watched it enough times that i would notice lol)

I don't know if you want these sorts of comments cluttering up the thread but I'm really super psyched for this project. It sounds absolutely amazing. The Saiyan back story stuff has always been some of my favorite filler. Thanks so much for getting this awesome idea rolling.

I have the JP DBox Bardock special and I could give it to you if you want it.

Well, I haven't taken care of the prologue bit yet for lack of time. I'll get on to it as soon as I can, but there's enough to work with at the moment.

One of my friends suggested adding the bits describing the Saiyan Legend, but I don't think they're usable from what I remember, it's just Vegeta telling the legend with some very vague shit on the back.

Again, I've got all of the video necessary to do it, so as long as people want to just textually identify exact scenes to incorporate into it, I'm more than happy to do the editing (audio + video + compositing + extra recording if necessary + sound mixing + all that other shit).

Hey dude, I hope you got all my previous posts. Since you didn't reply to any of the posts which have the timings and all that I'm not too sure.

Anyway, how do you personally feel about those little snippets with the Legendary Super Saiyan myth?
