True, i just always "liked"/found amusing all those inconsistencies. This is kinda unrelated but i mean, come on, the explanation for Vegeta's dub voice being the actor's real voice is priceless "We thought Vegeta wouldn't be around all that long", and then we get the double change during the cell arcPuto wrote:Those were just mispronounciations/typos. The official spelling in the dub has always been Songoku.
*Opens volume 2...sees page 22...stares blankly at page...pokes eyes out* Nope, I can't see "Kami-sama" anywhere... Seriously, though, (i need to stop reading it at work) yeah, it's there. Totally must've self-corrected it in my brain at the time.... Kinda ticked off, not sure if i would prefer "Todo Poderoso" for this specific line and just have Karin and Goku refer to him as God later on like i think they did in the dub (i think that's the part i was thinking of)Puto wrote:Apparently we are getting "Kami"; Muten-Rōshi flat out said "Kami-sama" in vol. 2 (according to omegalucas, anyway). I'd prefer if they were to translate it properly to God though :S
Still, it's better than dancing around it with "Almighty"/"Todo Poderoso" like in the dub.
Right, i totally got it switched up. I believe we also got "Técnica pulverizadora da luz" or something like that and "Onda destruidora" at some point. Kinda sad that they never worked in a "Onda destruidora da tartaruga" lol. With all the diferent names, at least one should've been the original name fully translatedPuto wrote:We did get the Kame Hame Ha properly in most of Z. It's in DB that they gave it a new name every time. In Z, I think the only time they called it by a wrong name was during the Cell arc with "Luz Infinita."
And calling other attacks by the Kame Hame Ha's name outside of the movies/specials is restricted to Masenkō, iirc. Which is a mistake that was actually made in the Japanese version at one point, too.
Of course, there's always that DBGT Final Bout ad with the Kamayakama waves... XD
It happened mostly in the saiyan arc though, right? And was the switch with Kaioken in the series as well? I can't remember if it was just that vision from Bardock, or the actual tv series as well.
That was probably the best video game "review"(?) ever though! XD Top Games 98. Pedro Miguel Ramos (with blue hair at the time, no less) talking about a game based on the work of Akira "TAYAMA" and how players could pull off moves from the show like the "Kamayakama" and "METRA SMASH" in this classic "Bet'em up" (<-any of you know that genre?lol)....Oh, dear Kami XD LOL
