Fanon Backstories

Discussion, generally of an in-universe nature, regarding any aspect of the franchise (including movies, spin-offs, etc.) such as: techniques, character relationships, internal back-history, its universe, and more.

I had this idea for a story to explain why Earth has a moon again by the time of the Saiyan story arc (since Kame-sennin blew up the moon with his full-powered Kamehameha many years before).
It would have been set soon after Goku and ChiChi get married. The newlyweds are on their honeymoon when ChiChi brings up that she distinctly remembers there was once a moon in the sky. Through a roundabout way, she finds out through Goku that Kame-sennin blew it up, even though Goku himself never found out the reason why (he hasn't learned the secret about his Oozaru form yet, after all). ChiChi gets mad at Goku and puts their honeymoon on hold until Goku puts the moon back in the sky.
Naturally, Goku goes on a quest for the Dragonballs. The rest of the story I hadn't thought up of yet, but I would have written it so that Goku more or less manages to avoid many of the other characters he isn't supposed to run into yet (since none of them had supposedly seen him since he ran off with ChiChi). Also, I would have brought back that minor demon clan from one of the DB filler arcs as the main bad guys for this story, trying to plunge the surface world into eternal darkness so that they could roam freely topside.

You do know now, that God created another moon during Goku's training at the lookout right?

Given that I don't think it's every implied that Garlic Jr. actually created the Dead Zone, this is brilliant. Not to mention it would work with the vibe of the movie.

Anyway... one a friend and I came to a while back; Colds (Freeza, etc.) are all male, and can only reproduce a few times. As such, they developed high power levels and shape shifting. To see how highly Freeza, Cooler, and King Cold think of themselves is the extreme result these adaptations.

Just like Dragon Ball since Chapter #4.

Really? I must have missed that episode...and to think they've replayed DB in my country like a bazillion times.
Still, I've looked over my friend's copies of the Dragonball manga (untranslated) many times and I never saw Kami restore the moon. Shenron, yes, but not the moon. Was this scene added to anime? Or was it just mentioned in passing/dialogue?

We don't actually see it being restored.

I don't have my manga volume right now, but I think it's explained when Yamcha and Krillin ask Goku what happene to his tail when they meet at the 23rd tournament.

He tells them that Kami said he could only restore the moon if he lost his tail, although he himself didn't understand why.
Krillin and Yamcha on the other hand do.

Well, that makes everything clear then. Guess I can retire that story idea then, since there's no need for it anymore.
Thanks, Michsi and dbgtFO.
