Luffy looks about as muscular as Justin Chatwin...

Also, good score on the HSCF Mike.

Agreed. I love those figures (they're the ones that started it all lol) but I definitely think the Goku looks way better than the Luffy.
That's what I thought exactly.

It's a Super Collection figure. They were released by Bandai in Japan in 1992 and are generally extremely rare and expensive. The Gohan and Krillin set, which is the one I just received is probably the most rare of the series and for the longest time was an extremely sort after item since it was the only 5" action figurish depiction of both kid Gohan and Krillin. The set generally goes for somewhere around $80-$90. I just got it direct from Shibuya Japan for around $15.

Super Saiyajin Gohan.

I was walking around my local Uwajimaya (Japanese grocery store near where I live) when I saw the figure section. I already knew that they had those there because I had gotten one for Christmas and was told where they were. Instead of going for the "luck of the draw" boxes in which you don't get to see what you're getting, I decided to get one that you can actually tell what it is. I'm really happy.

We ended up getting the US cover, unfortunately. The interviews with the cast are on this release too, just in case anyone was wondering.

I'm starting my DBGT collection. I've actually only seen three episodes at most from back when it was on Toonami, so this will basically all be new to me.

My room is getting kind of messy, I should probably clean it up before these get lost somewhere in the mess.

So I forgot to switch the language over to Japanese the first time I popped the DVD in. Oh dear God, what were they thinking with that rap!?! I want to purge it from my memory, but I'm not sure if I will ever be able to.

Wait, which DVDs are we talking about? Didn't the Box Sets have Vic's dubbed Dan Dan?

In my post about purchasing them, I posted a picture of the single discs that I bought. I wanted the Japanese title cards and songs. Also, while not as bad as the Orange Bricks, I still felt that the Green Bricks' DNR was excessive. The original film has grain and I feel it should be preserved. In my opinion the Green Bricks are a step backwards in terms of presentation.

DVD and I'm pretty sure the blu-rays aren't steelbooks.

That's a nice find at a great price. I'm sure there are plenty of people on this forum that will be quite jealous.

My husband and I went to a gaming store recently. As usual when we go to these types of stores, I wandered around bored while he looked at figures and paint and junk (and stuff). Then, to my surprise, I found something that actually intrigued me:

Image

A Dragonball Z Yahtzee game? Or, as I like to call it, YahtDBZee! Marked down to just $6, I couldn't resist adding something so amusing to my collection.

I got it home and looked at the instructions. It's not just regular Yahtzee dice with Dragonball characters on them, but a game that takes the idea of Yahtzee and uses it in a different way.

Image

Comes with dice, a "battle arena" and game board.

Like in Yahtzee, you roll the dice up to three times trying to get certain combinations. Instead of each combination having a set point value, you collect face-down tiles from the board as you roll them, and each of the tiles are worth points. There are seven Dragon Ball tiles that are worth the most points, and other tiles that denote actions that the player must perform. You are fighting against Cell, and if you get a Yahtzee you can collect any tiles that Cell has taken from the board. Whoever has the most points at the end wins.

I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but it actually looks pretty fun! And did they pick Cell because they wanted to be clever and have the Cell Games be an actual game against Cell? :P
