Do You Still Feel The Same Way
Everyone in on this site is a fan, but what type of a fan are you and do you still feel the same way you did when you became a fan?
I have loved this show since I started watching when I was 5. I would get goosebumps watching episodes and would really get into the show, and I still do. I love every second of the show and can never get enough of it. Does anyone feel the same way?

I get goosebumps during certain epic moments, yes. Do I love it as much as I loved it back int he day? Yeah pretty much. Or I wouldn't be investing 100's of dollars into the merchandise, lol.

It's a different kind of love for me now. I used to just like the series for the fighting.
Re: Do You Still Feel The Same Way
I'd go so far as to say I love it even more now.
Before there was also the excitement of not knowing what would happen next, now it's mostly appreciation for the entire franchise.
But I can't say I don't find it exciting anymore. 2 months ago I marathoned the entire DragonBall anime (just Dragonball) and I can't tell how much I STILL enjoyed it and how much I couldn't wait to get to the 22nd Tournament/Piccolo arc.

Re: Do You Still Feel The Same Way
I used to not actually care about Dragon Ball, and even dislike it to an extent. Knowing only FUNimation's dub of Z, I didn't actually watch much of it when I was younger, and often demanded to watch Pokemon instead.
It was kind of forced of me by my cousin, but I occasionally did enjoy bits and pieces of the Boo arc, and I found a lot of stuff from the original Dragon Ball to be pretty interesting. Everything else? Not so much. These days I still kind of feel the same way about the FUNimation dub, but I've obviously grown to like the series in general much more than I thought I would.

Re: Do You Still Feel The Same Way
When I was a kid I wasnt allowed to watch DB since it was "too violent" in my parents eyes.My classmates and friends all watched it and talked about how awesome it was,and I was jealous,so I pretended the only reason I didnt watch it because I didnt like it and it was stupid. And as time passed I started to belive that this was true.Last year I started watching DBZ Abridged cause it was funny, and then told myself "Screw it.I'm watching DB.Right now.! And then me and my sis watched all DN and DBZ episodes during vacation and now I really love it.I love it to the extend I usually only love series I watched since childhood.

Re: Do You Still Feel The Same Way
I Probably don't love it the way I did years before but I have a greater appreciation for everything Dragonball now.
Like CODii said, I used to just watch it for the action but now I watch it for the story.

I both appreciate it more than I did back watching through the dub the first time, and seem far more sensitive to the filler.
Something I forget to bring up in my "Introduction to DBZ" topic was the other anime fans in the room spouting the usual complaint of how there is more talking than fighting. Doesn't bother me, but it is true, and I don't own the manga so that means a lot more.

Re: Do You Still Feel The Same Way
Well, back when I was younger, I was pretty much only in it for DBZ's fighting, explosions and stuff, but I think I'm much more of a fan now than I was before, because I've learned to appreciate the original Dragon Ball and the series' finer details, like the characters, the storyline, etc.
And yet, I still don't own DVDs of the anime, which pisses me off because I've never watched it in full, only the manga. But, alas, I don't have the money to spend on that right now. I'm having enough trouble saving up for a Nintendo 3DS.

Thinking about it again, the video games probably helped prolong my interest. After finding this site I may well be burnt out on it.

When I was eight I never cared for character development, nor the storyline; in fact I really only tuned in for the fighting. Now that I'm nineteen I can appreciate all of it.

It's like music. When I was younger I never cared for the lyrical content or the technical aspects of how well the instruments were being used... Whereas now I've come to find that there are plenty of bands that I liked when I was 8-9 years old that I can appreciate even more now because of what they actually sing about or how good they are as individual musicians.

Re: Do You Still Feel The Same Way
Since I've been into the series since I was about one and a half (on Toonami), I've learned so much about this series, the time when the cast was young, and that the whole thing started out as a black and white serialized comic. My love for the series has grown more and more over the years. I think that Dragon Ball will be cherished for generations to come.

Re: Do You Still Feel The Same Way
I think I've pretty much come full-circle, but I'm partly in hibernation right now because of how very little "new" DB info is coming out that I don't already have knowledge about.
I still love this series though; when that Jump Tour special came out a couple years ago, it was like I was 14 all over again--fan-girling everywhere. Woke me right back up.
If they were to come out with another DB special like "Ossu!" though, I think I'd probably have that same reaction. ^^;;
All I got at the moment are the blips of new DBO plot points, and things like Ultimate Butoden's avatar customizing aspects; not much compared to coming home and turning on weekday Toonami to watch a "new" episode of Z.
(I am really glad that I've stuck around long enough to learn what happens to Goku and Vegeta in DBO though; what a fantastic, tragic ending.)
The fact that they picked year "801" for this event amuses me greatly though. XD
