DBZ Rewrite, anyone...?

Post by Mattias » Thu Feb 19, 2004 10:33 pm

Yes, I know this has virtually nothing to do with DB...well, I guess it does a little. I'm wondering if any of you here actually remember when Some Random Guy (that was his screen name...not to mention he was some random guy!) started his own zany (a word he frequently used) rewrite of DBZ. It's actually quite humourous, and unfortunately the site he was hosting has...well, vanished.

However, through the powers of the internet, one web engine has actually stored certain websites in its cache...or folders, whatever.

So, DBZ Rewrite can be revived...or visited for the very first time! Here is the link!

Ah yes, another DBZRW fan. Greatest fic ever written, or so I think.

Clicking the links on that page doesn't work, you might have to screw with the url if you really want to see it (and I assure anyone out there that they do).

I still prefer DragonBall Cut, especially because of the latter episodes, which are just... awesome. I never really had a thing for this rewrite. A lot of the stuff is just incredibly hilarious, genius even. But the jokes aren't Dragon Ball related a lot of the time. It's not actually a ''parody'', as such. Sure, SRG throws (quite a few) parodical references to DBZ, but later on this sort of whithers... And he starts making up entire storylines unrelated to Dragon Ball, altering stuff for no reason, only so he can fit his own jokes into it. All of which could just as well have been used in a Sailor Moon rewrite.

But still, SRG's DBZ rewrite is hilarious, and I enjoyed reading it. Really.
