Natural disasters are always a pain in the ass... :(

Luckly, Japan is well prepared for this, so the casualties are minimum.

Gotta keep online as much as ya can so we know you're alright. Really though, hope you stay safe man.
Since there is still a large number of aftershocks, maybe I can't sleep tonight. Actually my room is still shaking.

Wow... There have been small earthquakes in my area for the past couple months, but I never noticed any of them (I think I was awake when both happened, and the second one was supposedly relatively strong). Nothing compared to this, though...

I'm impressed that the person keeping it DB-related was in the middle of it. ^_^. Stay safe, everyone!

Figured I'd toss this up here.

I fell asleep on the couch last night and I woke up with the t.v. tuned in to HLN, so this was the first thing I heard when I woke up. I instantly thought of Julian, kei17, and a few other Japanese I am familiar with. Of course my condolences stretch out to everyone in the land of the rising sun and I hope this will be the last tragedy for a very long time. It seems like so many things are going wrong in the world lately. :?

The thing that pissed me off about HLN is they wasted time shifting to "news" about Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan in between the info about Japan. As if anyone should be concerned with that at a time like this. (Or ever, really.)

Anyway, hopefully everything will be alright.
Trans rights, now!

Yet the fall of monarchy in Europe and the black death don't seem that bad in comparison to those two happenings? It's easy to panic when things like this happens, but we have to remind ourselves that disasters and changes in society and revolution have always existed, with often good results (vaccines, medical research, new social structures, more freedom).
It's healthy to keep perspective on these kinds of things.

I would like to add that my thoughts go to the families and the dead.

Julian says that's bullshit:

Would appreciate people RT-ing my previous tweet, BTW. Thanks to BBC's kanji-ineptitude, the "88,000" thing seems to be spreading.

I agree with Kei, we'll probably see the main Fuji TV broadcast affected by these most recent events. Whether they just delay a week or skip the entire episode entirely, I'm not sure. One Piece can afford a week off, considering how close it is to the comic. Hopefully JUMP won't be forced to take a week off, though.
