I wish but I heard someone asked him and Chris said "I doubt it man, that song is too high for me".
I don't know why that would stop him, considering they allowed Cook and Schemmel to record versions. If they're going to do (un)intentionally bad recordings they might as well let the performers mess around with it.
Heck, look what they did to the Ginyû insert song. Sabat certainly wasn't the right voice type there.
Sabat doing the chorus to the Ginyu insert worked with how the cheesiness. Him not doing Dragon Soul would be a personal choice, since he's the director.
And I happen to like Schemmel's version of Dragon Soul the best, so I wouldn't use bad there. Though, yeah, Cook had a rough go at the song.

I am a sad fan.

Even 'Now Diiiiiieeeee!' would've been better.

I like Sean's version a bit better because honestly I can't stand Greg Ayers (though he sang it well) mainly because as a VA he's good but it seems all he does is roles that require high pitched screaming and shouting and it gets so annoying to the point where whenever I buy an anime from Funimation and I hear him I think "oh no he's in this!?!"

I feel the same way about Chris Sabat. Though I give him a pass on Dragon Ball since his roles are different and I got used to them before I knew that he was in every anime ever.

So he should just sing it down an octave. The super bass version of Dragon Soul!

Oh man, I want to hear Alex Louise Armstrong's rendition of Dragon Soul specifically.

Well I bought three and four together and pre-ordered Five (25$ is a good deal for the blue ray), cant wait to see them. I also wanted to make sure I got these just encase they are recalled.

I was watching episode 52, and I noticed something that made me very happy: Funimation got rid of the awful "ghosting" effects! In the Japanese episode 52, as Goku and Frieza throw punches at each other there is some awful ghosting effects going on that really get rid of the detail and make everything look bad. But on the Z Kai Blu Ray I didn't see those effects! Did anyone else notice this?

That's probably just an artifact by whoever recorded the episode from Japanese TV.

That is because of Japanese TV stations' own flashing/shaking regulation. I find it really ridiculous, but it's that strict here since the "Pokémon Shock".
