FUNimation channel
I'm sure some of you may know this already, FUNimation is starting a new digital cable/satelite channel exclusively for FUNimation lisecened anime, not unlike that of ADV's The Anime Network. you can read about it at http://www.animenewsnetwork.com, it should still be on the front page. they also have their own website at http://www.funimationchannel.com, though it's not live yet.
Based on the fact that FUNimation doesn't have that many titles yet, They are definately gonna end up airing the same shows at least twice a day. Now I'm hoping that, although unlikely, they should make one of the airings the dub, and the other the sub version. If they actually do do that, maybe we might actually be able to see subtitleded Dragonball Z on tv, now that would be awesome. Now we'll see if they can actually get picked up by a major cable/satelite company so people can actually watch it. Maybe we'll even get it here in canada. We'll just have to wait and see I guess...

Here's hoping they stay on VoD for the moment, but since they haven't rutted themselves into labelling their channel as "anime whatever", unlike ADV, FUNimation can possibly hope to show some of their live action properties too, which should help flesh the network out. FUNimation actually do have a nice library of things right now, most of them being of a relativley good standard (unlike ADV, who has a few gems in a sea of shit), and if they continue to get successful titles then this will work out fairly well for them.
Here's hoping!
Here's hoping!

Are you saying Tekken The Movie isn't a masterpiece?Magnaboss wrote: FUNimation actually do have a nice library of things right now, most of them being of a relativley good standard (unlike ADV, who has a few gems in a sea of shit), and if they continue to get successful titles then this will work out fairly well for them.

Jerseymilk: "Can I tell you something?"
B-kun: "What?"
Jerseymilk: "I see Fangirls."

Until you erase all the movies off that list...Sun_Wukong wrote:http://animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedi ... .php?id=13
Theyve got all these, pretty solid ammount.
I have a feeling the FUNimation Channel will either have massive Dragon Ball/Detective Conan programming blocks, or they're gonna get shows from other sources (FUNi is a part Navarre now, so who knows).
Let's hope it'll at least bring Detective Conan back. o_O I couldn't possibly afford to spend cash every other month on 3-episode DVDs for a 400+ episode series.
And I certainly hope it's nothing like the Anime Channel where it's limited only to a few locations. Also hope it's not restricted to just satelite. >_>
