Well, it looks like eBay is my only choice to get the infringed sets now. I already have Parts 1 & 2, so those are considered collector's items now!GotenDaisuki wrote:Most likely.cloud1414 wrote:Now I know that local stores are recalling parts 1-4 with the infringed score, whats going to happen with amazon and rightstuf? On eBay, people are still selling the infringed sets, though.

Screenshots or comparisons? I didn't think it aired yet. I just want to make sure. It's hard to believe they would allow that much blood coming out of Gohan's arm. But not have Trunks coughing up blood.cloud1414 wrote:pretty much all the blood was kept in in that episode except when trunks coughed up blood they removed that. but all the blood with gohan was kept in.GotenDaisuki wrote:I saw the episode a few weeks ago when it aired.SSVegetto wrote:How much blood will they censor?
I never saw the original Z epsidode, but in that scene in Kai, it was pretty bloody.

I believe just about all the blood censoring was due to instances of people coughing it up, and having holes blasted through them. They still leave just about all of the blood from cuts and gashes all over their bodies as far as I know.SSVegetto wrote:It's hard to believe they would allow that much blood coming out of Gohan's arm. Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
Is there any official confirmation that the English Kai Sets are being recalled? Because I just went to my nearby Hastings this morning, and they still had the Kai sets (Part 4 still under "New Releases", both DVD and Blu-Ray, Parts 2 and 4 DVD for Rent, Parts 1 DVD/Blu-Ray for Buying, Part 3 DVDs for buying). So, is there any official thing saying that, "FUNimation has recalled all sets of Dragon Ball Z Kai for possible music infringement"? Just because your store doesn't have them right now probably means they're out of stock at the moment.

No, there is no confirmation from FUNimation themselves, not that I know of.metamoss wrote:Is there any official confirmation that the English Kai Sets are being recalled? Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
I think they will, but not yet. I'm kind of confused since a lot of people are saying "Kai getting recalled!" yet I go to my local store and they're still there, waiting to be bought/rented. Maybe I'm a little ticked off at people just assuming that all this news+the place they usually buy it at doesn't have it means that it's recalled. Unless a store clerk told them. Then I'd be cool with it. Then that probably means Hastings just wants to milk it for what's it worth and doesn't give a crap.GotenDaisuki wrote: No, there is no confirmation from FUNimation themselves, not that I know of.

And I'm pretty sure the reason Part 5 was delayed was because of the BGM scandal.metamoss wrote:I think they will, but not yet. Therefore, in order to continue consistently, they would either have to keep the DVDs as they are until those last three episodes air, or change the BGM altogether in every DVD (for consistency). But, I highly doubted that they would keep Yamamoto's score intact for the rest of the series until episodes 96, 97, and 98, but now I have to say I am sure they won't based on today's Toonzai airings and Part 5's delay. So, in order to keep the series consistent, they would have to recall the DVDs and change the BGM, or we would have an imperfect collection again.

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
My point is that the sets with the Yamamoto score are still there in stores. Yes, they probably will recall the sets for consistency. But they haven't yet because of some random reason. I'm just a little mad because people are saying "Ahh Kai is being recalled!! It's true because my store is out of them!!" and then I go to my store and see like at least two copies of each set still there on the shelf.GotenDaisuki wrote: And I'm pretty sure the reason Part 5 was delayed was because of the BGM scandal.

Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
Yeah, so I would take advantage and buy them before they get recalled, if they get recalled. And, I've been to stores like Best Buy many times, and usually, Kai was out of stock there. So, just because stores are out of them doesn't mean the DVDs are being recalled. Yes, I agree with you on this one. But FUNimation has been giving us hints that probably means they are going to recall the sets and change the BGM.metamoss wrote:My point is that the sets with the Yamamoto score are still there in stores. FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Shit, what does this mean for the Madman release? Dammnit!!! Amazon here I come. There has been no official word on a recall, yet, right? If so I still have time to place an order in.

I'm pretty sure not only the English dub will be affected by this, but all the dubs around the world. There have been no word from FUNimation on recalling the DVDs, nor the main topic of Yamamoto's plagiarism. But, just in case, I suggest you place in order as quickly as possible before they get recalled, if they do.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:FFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
I'm starting to get a bit confused now. A combination of legitimate news and speculation.
Assuming FUNi's 5th box is delayed to replace the music, where does that leave us with Yamamoto's score in terms of which episodes on which formats it is available? Both in terms of North American and Japanese releases, that is. I'd like to eventually be able to get as much of Kai in it's original form as possible.

If I order it tonight off Amazon will I still get the 'Yamamoto Score' or will my order be delayed so they can recall the product?

As long as there are still some left over in stock before the recall begins, if it does, I'm pretty sure you will still get the Yamamoto score on the product.DragonBoxZTheMovies wrote:If I order it tonight off Amazon will I still get the 'Yamamoto Score' or will my order be delayed so they can recall the product?

Does anybody know when the next new episode will air on Nicktoons? I want to know if they've switched the score, because I love Yamamato's score for the Android Saga
Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
Awesome. Maybe I'm just a sucker for Kikuchi's score, but I thought it all fit really nicely.JulieYBM wrote:Here's a scene from the Toonzai airing.
Considering they used those pieces of music means they're not limiting themselves to using the exact same music they used in the original Z airing. This means Toei has A LOT of music to choose from. Hopefully things won't be repetitive at all.

Yes, I thought it worked very well in that particular scene. But, there are some bad choices hidden among the BGM change, unfortunately. But, now Toei has access to much more music from Kikuchi's compositions, so hopefully there won't be many more bad choices.Xell wrote:Awesome. Re: Toei Officially Acknowledges Yamamoto's Kai Rip-Offs
It's kind of funny. I complained for so long that one of the big flaws of Kai was its lack of Kikuchi, but I got to like the Yamamoto score so much, I'm not nearly as excited as I thought I'd be to hear Kikuchi's score playing in Kai.
Not that I'm complaining, as I think Kikuchi's score is better, but Yamamoto's score was good and a little different and made the show seem newer. Now I have all these mixed feelings and it irritates the hell out of me.
The Kikuchi score is better, but is it better for Kai?

We'll just have to see.penguintruth wrote: The Kikuchi score is better, but is it better for Kai?
At the time of its release, Z had limited choices of what song to play during a scene.
But now Toei and Yukio Nagasaki have access to Kikuchi's complete DBZ score, from the series and the movies, so there will be much more variety than Z when it had its score.
So mondo lame.
