Its not made up. I saw the episodes on Saturday and they are on my PVR right now. How can I forget the horrible track placement of Baby Gohan's theme when Goku got his body back.Gotham22 wrote:It's probably made up. How can Toonzai be using it already?

Oh, yes, Nagasaki totally screwed up with that decision. It was horrendous to say the least.PuppetDoctor wrote: How can I forget the horrible track placement of Baby Gohan's theme when Goku got his body back.

No. That was a real scene aired on Toonzai on Saturday, and the scene in the episode had the same music as the video.Gotham22 wrote:maybe he added the music on his own.
Just face it, it has happened, Yamamoto's score is gone on the 4Kids Version, and soon it will be wiped out on TV. The only versions of Kai left with Yamamoto's score will be the Kai DVDs and Blu-rays before they are recalled, and maybe Toei's sets as well. But, on television, the Yamamoto score is almost gone for good, whether you decide to believe it or not.
So mondo lame.
Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
First of all, 4Kids has nothing to do with edits, so it's assumed it has nothing to do with the music either. 4Kids is not involved in Kai. It's just a more strictly edited version of FUNi's dub.GotenDaisuki wrote: Just face it, it has happened, Yamamoto's score is gone on the 4Kids Version, and soon it will be wiped out on TV. Second, Yamamoto is not gone yet. Only two episodes have had the music replaced. The majority of airings have had and will still have Yamamoto's score. We've just started replacing it over here. It's not gonna happen instantaneously.

The first episode is airing on Nicktoons right now as a rerun, still has Yamamoto's score.

I can confirm, having watched the Toonzai episode, it's legit. Besides, it's not like he had a copy of the show without music to use.

Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
Yes, I am aware that 4Kids has nothing to do with it. I say "4Kids Version" because it is different than Nicktoon's "version" in terms of to what extent each episode is edited. And, obviously, 4Kids' "version" is more edited than Nicktoon's "version".AgitoZ wrote:First of all, 4Kids has nothing to do with edits, so it's assumed it has nothing to do with the music either. 4Kids is not involved in Kai. But what confuses me is that FUNimation changed the BGM for Toonzai but not for Nicktoons. And, since they're taking action now, the Yamamoto score is gone now on Toonzai, and why would they change the score for two episodes and go back to the Yamamoto score? That wouldn't make any sense. So, I say that the 4Kids "version" of Dragon Ball "Z" Kai has now applied the BGM change to their run, and all that's left are FUNimation's DVDs/Blu-rays, Nicktoons, and Toei's DVDs/Blu-ray sets.
How can you be entirely sure that broadcasts in the future will have Yamamoto's score? In Nicktoon's case, I agree. We've predicted two chances where they could have replaced the score, but they chose not to do so. I do predict that Nicktoons will not change the score until they absolutely have to. This brings me back to the conclusion that maybe FUNimation and 4Kids are taking early precautions so that 4Kids/CW will not get in legal trouble. If FUNimation themselves worried about this, they would have changed the BGM on broadcasts on Nicktoons, not just Toonzai.
Even though we've only just begun replacing Yamamoto's score, it doesn't mean the dub won't stick with it. I liked Yamamoto's score very much and I'm disappointed to see it go. If the BGM was changed on Toonzai or Nicktoons (it really doesn't matter which), that would mean that, it changed, and there's no going back from there, unless FUNimation wants to cause further confusion. I assure you that the dub will eventually switch over to the Kikuchi score in due time, as Toonzai has already begun. I imagine, by June, when Part 5 is released, Yamamoto's score will be gone for good, on television, at least.
Yes, we've tried telling him we do have confirmation by watching the episode, but he still doesn't seem to get it.MetroidJunkie wrote:I can confirm, having watched the Toonzai episode, it's legit. Besides, it's not like he had a copy of the show without music to use.

Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
I'm not sure how much logic there is to this, but it's the only thing I can think of (and, besides, we all know how much "logic" there seems to present in anything that goes on with DB): Correct me if I'm wrong, but were the episodes that Toonzai aired with the Kikuchi score premiere episodes for them? As in, episodes they've never aired before? If so, maybe that, for some reason, takes precedent. Nicktoons is only doing reruns at the moment, while Toonzai is showing episodes they've never shown before. I have no idea why that would make it different, but maybe there is some bizarre contractual wording that causes Nicktoons to be okay for the moment. It's all I can come up with at the moment.
But that also might make sense from a practical standpoint. I mean, Nicktoons is showing episodes that they already have access to. So I guess they'd be showing the same "tapes" that they had already been given. But since these are "new" episodes that Toonzai are showing, maybe they just received them from FUNimation, who, in turn, had just finished working on them. Therefore, it would make sense that the Toonzai episodes had the music change while the Nicktoons version, as of yet, have not.

But are they still showing new episodes online? Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
That was my theory. Nicktoons just hasn't gotten any master tapes or whatever with Kikuchi's score yet.Gaffer Tape wrote:But that also might make sense from a practical standpoint. I think it's also possible that FUNimation is prioritizing getting the Kikuchi score to Toonzai, since they have a much wider potential audience there (and thus a greater chance of legal trouble).

So, I'm doing the comparison for episode 44 and I came across an odd edit. Actually, I'm sure this was done purely by accident. Because of the way they edit blood in some scenes, one of Freeza's eye's is green. Check that out...

Yeah, I remember the night that episode aired, the eye color thing was immediately noticed by a ton of people on this board. Keep watching for the next few episodes. It was there quite a bit more often than you'd expect. I might be mistaken, but I think it was always his left eye, too. Maybe it was bleeding ...?

That's interesting. That must have been a mistake and on accident, I seriously doubt they would be stupid enough to edit one eye's color and leave the other eye red.
So mondo lame.
Re: DragonBall Z Kai - Cable TV Version (NickToons)
This is the same reason as to why Gohan's (or was it Reacoom's?) lips turned that bizarre orange: they're simply doing an automated color replacement process in that shot rather than painting over. Though I wonder why it only hit ONE eye...
For all the flack that FUNimation gets on this forum for their quote about DBZ, there's some modicum of truth to it: a 9-year-old is born every day. Or in some cases, "reborn". DBZ may be a kids' show, but it's been so close to so many hearts all over Japan, America, and quite possibly, even the world.
It'd be a lot easier if they masked the part of the clip Frieza's blood is in so they can change it individually. I mean, surely Funimation's tech can match Sony Vegas, right?
