Emperor Pilaf in DBZ - yay or nay?
Emperor Pilaf in DBZ - yay or nay?
Do you think Emperor Pilaf should have been in DBZ, or not?

I love Pilaf-sama but what could he really do in DBZ? (besides turn good and thus have his character ruined) He wouldn't even fit in with the serious tone the show had going. I guess maybe he could've been the one to unleash Majin Boo or some random shit but he wouldn't really be able to do much besides pop up in a filler episode once in a forever like Tao Pai Pai and Lunch.

I think he should have been.
For instance he could have gotten the Ultimate Dragonballs and wished Goku into a Kid in the beginning of Z. Think how great the series would have been had that happened.

I for one liked Goku way better when he was a kid.
Not saying he should have been wished back into one in Z, just saying.

I honestly don't think he would fit in during Z. I did enjoy seeing him at the start of GT though.
Re: Emperor Pilaf in DBZ - yay or nay?
I think he should have had a filler cameo like Tao Bai Bai had but nothing major.

No. He can't do jack shit, I have no idea why Shu and Mai even follow him. Most of his schemes involved traps, which could easily be broken out of now.

A combination of them being scared of him and because they'll be second in command of the world once he takes it over.Pokewhiz7 wrote:No. He can't do jack shit, I have no idea why Shu and Mai even follow him. Most of his schemes involved traps, which could easily be broken out of now.

I think it would have been nice to see him and his goons at some point, but not necessarily part of the plot. After Piccolo Daimao throws them off of his ship, they kind of drop off the face of the Earth, like so many other characters tend to do. Maybe seeing him donate to the Genki Dama or something would have been entertaining.

The filler eps with Tao should have had Pilaf instead. Tao was embarassed enough with his fight with Ten, but the Cell Saga filler eps really wrecked him. Pilaf was always meant to be silly and made a fool out of, so he woulda been a better fit.

I loved the fact that Tao was made a fool of in Z. It just goes to show that by the time the Z-fighters have leveled up into those super-wariors they have become in Dragon Ball Z, Tao has been left behind and not gotten any stronger. It all goes to show how much our heroes have progressed. I suppose Tao could could have became stronger along with the Z-fighters but he'd just be the other Vegeta who just so happens to have same techniques as Tenshinan. He wouldn't have done a lot.
Back on topic with the Pilaf discussion, I wouldn't mind seeing Pilaf incorporated into the plot (as he is one of my favourite villians) however now that Dragon Ball Z has been made and he wasn't in it aside from the cameo appearance in Movie 9 I don't care ethier way anymore. Seeing that Toei animation hadn't forgotten him by the time they made GT was a nice touch I reckon. It was also a nice touch seeing them fall out of Pilaf floating palace during the Piccolo Daimao arc it was like a changing of the guard between the comical tone of Dragon Ball and the more serious tone of Dragon Ball.

I'm not sure whether Pilaf, Shu and Mai would've fit in or not. The series had moved on beyond gag villains that weren't really a threat. But I wouldn't mind if he was shoved in somewhere, maybe in the Genki-Dama donation, rather than whole filler episodes.

The 3rd Legacy of Goku game, I guess. http://dragonball.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon ... u_(series)dylanmorgan17 wrote:What is the 3rd LOG?

I don't really see what his role could have been in Z. Aside, of course, from being comic relief, but I think DB has enough of those.
I like Pilaf well enough but he played his part in DB.

In the 3rd LOG game, he was going after the Dragon Ball's and Goten or Trunks (Depending who you pick) ends up stopping him. I'm gald he end up showing up in GT instead.

I absolutely despise Pilaf since GT started.
Besides, Garlick Jr was more than a suitable temporary replacement.
