How strong do you think King Vegeta was?
Title says it all. The only canon info is that he was weaker than 18,000pl. Daizenshuu lists nothing. Being king, it's safe to assume he was among the upper echelon of the Super Elite Saiyans, but what would that be since we don't know what the average strength of a Saiyan is? Is Bardock's 10,000 super-elite level strength? Assuming it is, my guess would be that King Vegeta had a pl in the 10,000-12,000 range. My reasoning is because Vegeta said he was stronger than his father as a child.

Kid Vegeta's PL was never officially quoted anywhere, just conjectured by fansites to be in the 6-8,000pl range since he took out 5 saibamen (5x1,200=6,000pl, ergo kid V MUST be over 6,000. Faulty logic).Magica wrote:For a long time I believed that kid Vegeta's PL was around 8,000. So maybe his father is around the 5,000-15,000 range.
If someone can correct me on Kid vegeta's level, they're free to.
I guessed 12,000 to be King Vegeta's max since Vegeta had plateaued as a child due to not having any more challenges. So I figure Vegeta to be at about 13,000-15,000 so that he's stronger than his father like he claimed to be, but still weaker than his future pl of 18,000 (I assume any strength gained over the years had to be a result of unmotivated training).
As for Bardock, I have a theory that a Saiyan's healing factor can be trained to give off more and more extra power each time it's used. Kind of like how someone with the same PL might be fater than another. Since he came back from every mission wounded or near-death, Bardock's healing factor, due to its constant use, probably gave off an exceptional amount of extra power to him by the time we first see him. Since nobody would know a person's body better than his own physician, I believe the doctor was right in estimating what his true PL was over 10,000.

Well, we have some powers to work with to estimate at least... Vegeta's 18,000, Nappa's 4,000, and Bardock's 10,000. Now, the Bardock special was about 20 years ago so... I'd say Nappa was most likely around 2,000 with Kid Vegeta at around 7,000. I would say that King Vegeta was probably 5,000.
Of course, as with a lot of things in DB, this is only guess work. We really don't know enough. All we know is that King Vegeta was weaker than both Bardock and Kid Vegeta. I say Bardock was the strongest at the time though I've met a LOT of people on GameFaqs who think Bardock was weaker than even Nappa.

<Kaboom> I'm just glad that he now sounds more like Invader Zim than Rita Repulsa
<Xyex> Original Freeza never sounded like a chick to me.
<Kaboom> Neither does Rita
<Xyex> Good point.

I think that, IMO, you cannot change what class you're in. Even if you're really strong and you're born a low class saiyan you'd still be a low class saiyan.Super DC wrote:Problem with Burdock is that he wasn't a super elite but a low class warrior, like his sons. He really should be only be half of 10,000, because even then that would seem powerful for a low class warrior.
So bardock could easilly be quite strong.
Random Fact: "If Freeza used a watering can on Piccolo, he would turn into a tree. FACT."
I know, I just don't know what to call that, though. Basically the discussion is "what's King Vegeta's PL if it's less than X, which is less than 18,000?"Fuujin wrote:Actually, Vegeta told Freeza that he surpassed his father when he was still a kid, so Kid Vegeta's PL would be actually higher than King Vegeta's.

The Bardock special was so admired by Toriyama that his character and death was incorporated into the manga. This is the only instance where I will personally accept anime as pure canon. None of the events can dispute anything in the manga anyway.Duo wrote:Well, keep in mind that the Bardock Movie isn't canon, so he should actually be regarded as having a PL around 1,000 like Raditz, or maybe higher? 2,000 max.
Nappa was 8,000 when he topped out, so the King should be 10,000 and Vegeta when the planet was destroyed should be 11,000 to 14,000.
Nappa being 8,000 was never proven, but I agree that the King could be around 10,000.
