Does any one have this picture?
Q: Finally, out of ten years of DragonBall, which picture are you the most pleased with?
A: The one where Goku and Gohan are riding a thing that looks like a Harley with legs (page 88 140). This is the only one that you could say I'm pleased with.
If you have this picture, can you please share? High quality is preferable.
Thanks in advance!

And years later, in his interview with Oda, he wonders why he prefered this one

Here is the interview :
http://library.thinkquest.org/07aug/020 ... about.html
Q: Of all your illustrations that you can remember, what do you think were your favorites?
Toriyama: My favorite piece of artwork?
Oda: I know. Toriyama-sensei probably doesn't remember... but I remember seeing a comment of his on that.
Toriyama: Really?
Oda: You mentioned something of the sort in some interview.
Toriyama: This one? (points at the illustration)
Oda: Absolutely. (laugh) You said that it was the only one you liked.... I was thinking, "Well what about all the others?"
Toriyama: That's right, yeah, yeah, I said it, I did say that this was my favorite! But actually, looking at it now, I wonder why I chose this one.
Oda: (Laugh)
Toriyama: Maybe I liked it because the green-yellow in the background was so pretty?
Oda: Well in your comments from back then, you said that you really liked the overall balance of the mecha.
Toriyama: I guess I had thought at the time that it went together really well?
Oda: If the actual artist doesn't know, nobody knows. (laugh)
Gotta love Oda's enthusiasm and Toriyama's "Huh? Did I dio that?"

I swear. Toriyama wrote his own freakin' personality into Goku. He's so nice and so forgetful!

^ Yeah, but Toriyama must be atleast 50 times smarter than Goku.

That's my Toriyama.
That was the exact same though I had when he mentioned the picture.

Well,
of course I didn't mean that Toriyama was literally as naive and socially unaware as Goku, but you can certainly see the similarities in Goku's personality and Toriyama's forgetfulness of things pertaining to the franchise/story/art and how nice of a guy he is in general.

The clothes do look similar...except Goku's shirt doesn't read "Postboy".

I can't believe that's the only picture Toriyama is pleased with. Well, I guess it's different, being an author; you tend to over-criticize your own work when it didn't come out the way you wanted it, but others are completely fine with it. Same thing happened to me when I was younger and I used to draw, and my friends all thought it was awesome, while I thought some of my drawings looked shit. And today, when I had to do a creative piece of writing for an English mock exam and I thought it was crap, while my teacher said it was good.

That interview with Oda-san makes it pretty clear that really isn't the case. Toriyama-san cracks me up. He seems so scatter brained.

I thought Toriyama was just saying that he forgot he said that and wondered why that picture was his favourite.

His favourite...
at the time. Like he mentions in that same interview, his art and preferences are constanly evolving and changing.

Piccolo can now brag about when he wore a "Toriyama" original.

Oh, OK. Well, it's Toriyama.

He's a true artist! Or at least he sounds like me. I'm like that too. I'll find a picture of mine that I like, use it as a prime example for my skills and then look back at it a couple years later and go "why the hell did I like that?"
Toriyama seems like a really fun guy. I'd really like to meet him.
...Wait what are you doing? Are you still reading this? I finished what I had to say, why don't you move on to the next post?
