The first two movies were very haphazard projects that only had one out of the three current writers, being Lanipator. The other two, Masako and Hideki (AKA Vegeta3986) weren't exactly at their best then. Furtheremore, the editing was sub-par as, well, neither Masako nor I were editing them. Now it's Lanipator, Takahata101 and I who write the show and we've grown a LOT as writer over time. I've also become a much better editor as well. If we did those movies again, they'd be SIGNIFICANTLY different creatures.

That shouldn't be a factor. There are a whole bunch of inside jokes that many casual Dragonball fans don't know about. Such as Appule, "Keep your eye on the birdie", many others I can't think of right now, but I'm sure are out there.
