"Gold Edition" Dragonball manga?

Post by Li'l Lemmy » Fri Oct 14, 2005 3:48 am

Earlier, I was picking through some Japanese sites for daizenshuu when I came across a manga set called Dragon Ball Gold Edition. I don't know what it is . . . hell, it's Japanese; I wouldn't even know it was manga if not for a helpful photo of what appears to be a very nice-looking set . . . but there is a price listed of 5282 yen, which unless I miss my guess is around $46.

Has anyone ever heard of this Gold Edition, or can identify what makes it special?

(Li'l Lemmy, very curious.)

I know of a Dragon Ball Gold Edition released in Germany. It was mentioned in "Dragon Ball Landmark" too.

It is a boxed set of the first 7 volumes of Dragon Ball, with gold covers & some color pages. Heh, I'm still thinking whether I should buy that set, it would kinda mess up the cool DB spineline, but the box does look pretty...[yeah, I buy the German DB]

My God. They look positively drool-worthy when shown from that particular 3/4 degree angle, don't they?

If I can find out anything more about this set, I am seriously considering making a grab for any copy I can find . . . and where better for someone without any manga (like me) to start than from the beginning?!

In this case, it is a pity that looks aren't everything.
