Goten and Trunks Super Saiyan 3?

Post by Rawring Ninja » Sun Apr 24, 2011 8:12 am

So, I've been wondering this after reading an earlier thread about Goten and Trunks. Since gotenks can transform into Super Saiyan 3, does that mean that separately Goten and Trunks can also transform into Super Saiyan 3, or because they're not fused together, they only have half of Gotenks' power and wouldn't be able to?

I think that power is not everything about it. But they might not know how to do it, even if they can while fused.

Besides, Goten was quite scared of fighting Mr. Boo in the Budokai, so it's unlikely he achieved that level...

If SSJ transformations have power requirement, then Gotenks has more than enough power to go SSJ3, unlike Trunks and Goten separately.

Nothing suggests that they can. Their bodies probably couldn't handle it, considering how fast it burned up Goku's stamina when he used it. It even reduces Gotenks' fusion time.

Gotenks is a completely new and different person.

Just because Gotenks is able to do something, that doesn't mean that Trunks or Goten can do it by themselves.

So, no.

I always assumed that the only reason Gotenks was able to reach that form is because he was the product of fusion. Goku was able to do it because his body was in other world and therefore was properly conditioned. The same goes for a fused being IMO. That would explain why Vegeta never appears to learn it and why none of the other non-fused Saiyans are seen with it.

I also believe that once your body is introduced to it, you can bypass your physical limitations. This is why Goku could still access it once he was brought back to life. It's sort of similar to how he overcame his tail weakness; through enough exposure you can actually break through that wall.

They were not MSSJ IMO. Nothing indicates that.

They can go Super Saiyan like it's second nature and have control over how much power they're putting out when they do. What else do they need?

Along with Bussani's post, they also had the aura of a Full-Power Super Saiyan, just like Goku and Gohan from the Cell Games.

I don't fancy being a bandwaggoner, but... they both had the trademark "mastered Super Saiyan eyes," too.

Goten and Trunks are pratically the definition of a full-power Super Saiyan. As long you know what it is, you surely you know that Goten and Trunks have the mastery of the Super Saiyan.

There's no reason that Goten or Trunks could not achieve Super Saiyan 3 on their own, given enough time and training-- and by that, I mean several years' worth. The fact that they invest neither is all that really hinders their abilities.

I didn't notice a difference. Huh. Just another thing you learn over time, I guess.

I disagree, because my opinion is that it was a completely otherworldly and unnatural transformation that Goku only achieved due to his training in the afterlife for 7 years (which has unnatural conditions) and Gotenks only achieved it because he's an unnatural fusion with unnatural power. That's why Vegeta never achieved it. He didn't train in the afterlife for 7 years, nor is he a fusion.
