Internal Server Error?

Post by Hellspawn28 » Mon Mar 14, 2011 6:14 pm

Anyone else other then me, gets this error message when you login on or view a thread? I get a white screen with this message:
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@daizex.fanboyreview.net and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
I find it annoying sometimes when I get this message and will still be there after you refresh the page.

I've been getting that a lot lately, it's not even when I log in, it just randomly happens when I'm navigating around the forums :?

It's been happening all day for me, very annoying. It's also logged me out a few times.

It's really annoying and it didn't just happen yesterday, but it happens frequently every time I'm logged in and sometimes also, when posting, so if I've written a very long post, I have to copy it, so I don't have to write the entire thing again, if Internal Server Error causes its deletion.

I've gotten it a couple of times, but it's not too bad.

Has caused a couple of double posts though.

Yep, I've always gotten that fairly frequently. Lost more than a few long, meticulously created posts due to it, before I learned how to combat it.

By copying the entire post before trying to post, right?

No, actually, it's easier than that. In the past, when I'd get that message, I'd hit the "back" button to try to get back to the message editor... which would give me an empty message editor and cause me to lose my post. I learned that all I had to do was hit the "refresh" button, and it would post the post just fine! 8)

I've been getting it more and more lately. Especially last night, Daizex was practically shitting itself with those.

Last night was horrible. Lots of Internal Server Error messages.
I guess that the problem lies within fanboyreview.net server, where Daizex is "located", rather than the forum itself.
So I guess that there is not much to do about it, except for maybe notifying fanboyreview.net, or switching to another server.

I just got another when I try to sign on around 11:00 PM EST. It took me a while to load but it seems like I was able to sign back on. I hope VegettoEX will fix this soon.

The answer lies with the sites traffic, and how phpbb was programmed.

My apologies for bumping this thread. However half the time I post I get a Internal Server error 500 which stops me from posting. However when I go back to the topic my post has appeared but it doesn't change my post count. When I look at the topic at hand in the forum my post doesn't register to bump the thread. Is there anything I can do to combat this?

That's happened to a lot of people on this forum, including myself. I should technically have six more posts on my post count than what I do.

To answer your question, the only way I try to combat the Internal Server Error is to hit the back arrow on the error page to go back to the reply screen, then try re-submitting the post. That usually works for me.

As for a post that shows up on a topic in a sub-forum page but doesn't appear in the actual thread, there is nothing you can do about that unfortunately. Once someone replies after you, your post will disappear, but the post will still show up in your post archive. It's a really strange glitch in this forum...

Sorry to bump this, but I notice the error has been keeping on coming back up again. I got this message twice today.
