The Dragon Ball Kai Adventure - Road to 98

Post by Namekjin » Mon Apr 04, 2011 3:13 pm

My goal is to watch the Dragon Ball Kai series in English.

Episode 1 :
Opinions : I really liked the flashback showing all of Dragon Ball, The major plot-hole is Goku being a alien called the Saiyans, I loved the orchestra ver. of Dragon Soul.

Favorite Quotes :
"Shoo. Go. OOOOOOOOOORRRRRRR." - Kuririn/Krillin
"This is gonna be easier than coloring inside the lines!" - Vegeta
"OVER 9000!" - Vegeta
"YOU'LL NEVER ESCAPE....MY WRATH!!!" - Vegeta

Good luck, considering there's only 97 episodes of Kai, as far as we know.

Uh oh. Not the ideal route to take. The DVDs are super affordable now and will give you a MUCH better viewing experience.

That's like someone reviewing an R-rated movie based off of a TV showing on basic cable.

Get the DVDs. They're uncensored, they have all the swear words in them and the dub is pretty accurate if you're a dub fan. Don't see that Nicktoons edit, it's pretty horrible and kid-ified.

Yes, we've known this of all the currently-released material so far.

He's saying that the dub is accurate if he would prefer to watch that instead of the Japanese version.

Do they only edit out blood and change a few words in the TV edits? If so, would not having those things change his opinion of the show? Unless they cut out scenes from episode I don't think watching the TV version would overall change how he feels about the show.

Any mention of death is removed, as are the original Japanese attack names. Not to mention some of the edits could be jarring at times, making it hard to tell what's going on. And yes, they do cut out entire scenes from the Nicktoons broadcast. Vegeta's death was only over after just a couple minutes, Roshi is no longer a perv, Goku only lands about half of his hits on Freeza, I could go on. If accuracy is even barely one of his priorities, then yes, it'll make a difference.
