Kenji Yamamoto Music Intact?

Post by SRB2Unleashed » Wed Apr 27, 2011 4:27 pm

On Sunday, 4:00PM Eastern Time central, Nicktoons aired a rerun of Episode 56 of Kai.
The music when Freeza got sliced, The Ebb and The Flow which has been confirmed to be one of the confirmed tracks to be a rip-off has been replaced with another track, The Braveheart Challenges The Strong Does this mean Kenji Yamamoto's music will be restored and the two OSTs will be finally released? I sure hope so, seeing as I want to hear Gohan's Awakening the instrumental insert song used for the SSJ2 transformation. I'll gather a list of infrigned music in Kai and watch Nicktoons repeats to see if anything has been replaced.
GT isn't bad, just sucks ass in comparison to the other 2 animes.

If so, let's hope that "Gohan's Awakening" isn't one of the infringing pieces. Not to mention "Creature Of Marvel ~Slow Version~", which is the track I want the most.

I think it's worth repeating that *no-one* has confirmed which pieces within Kenji Yamamoto's score are infringing works.

We here at Daizenshuu EX have speculated and done some pretty heavily-researched documentation with what *we* feel are likely some of the infringing works, but it's not like Toei has said, "Yes, The Eff & The Flow is an infringing piece!"

Were Kenji Yamamoto's name not changed to Shunsuke Kikuchi on all the various official sites for the series, I'd say there might be a chance that it could return. With episodes of the English dub from all over the series flip-flopping in what music it has, though, I'd say it's on its way out.

We'll certainly know for sure in terms of the Japanese home release in just a week when another four volumes of the individual DVDs come out, and about a month later for the North American release with "Part 5" from FUNimation.

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

But anyway, yeah, we won't know anything for sure until the next DVDs/Blu-rays come out. Still, no harm in trying to keep a little optimism, right?

So this is why I love the forum so much.

Anyways, I think Nicktoons may not WANT to use the old Kikuichi tracks, because it's 20+ years old. That's my opinion however, I can easily be wrong.

I don't see why they would have a problem with it when TheCW4Kids is just fine with using the Kikuchi score.

Whatever it turns to be, Kenji just raised some levels for my taste.
I mean, he does have good tastes, and works just as pirate of the caribbean.

I do not intend to protect something anyway.
But money may count for lots of people involved in this world,
well it doesn´t for me when watching dragon ball z.

Maybe he just wanted to do some mixes?
Lots of people in my country would be very very f@cked out
if should they pay for the use of riffs from good works.
But I just face it like praising.

At the end of this episode, the 56, sounds the track "A new foe rears his head", which is very similar to some Terminator 4´s track. Did they change it too?

I don't know that it's a matter of wanting. I'd have to assume that it's a legal problem. Still, you would think that if it was a legal problem, then ALL episodes, regardless of the network, would be using the Kikuchi Kai score by now...and yet they're not. The lack of consistency in which network uses what score makes me wonder what the legal situation is behind the Kai Music Scandal.
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Woah, just came across a clip from episode 12 that was recorded off the 'Nicktoons' broadcast:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7LhZHPZjlro
Notice anything? The piece known as 'Destiny' has been completely removed leaving just silence. I reckon this is only a temporary replacement until they can re-score the whole series.
