Dragon Ball Kai Malaysian Dub

Post by RazorX » Fri May 06, 2011 7:27 pm

Dragon Ball Kai is being dubbed for Malaysia. It is titled Dragon Ball Z Kai and is being broadcast on NTV7. It is broadcast Sunday mornings at 10am with various repeats at other times. It seems they have one new episode a week.

The original Japanese opening and closing are kept. Interestingly, NTV7 inserted a few second shot of the DB Kai promotional poster after the opening and next episode preview, featuring music from none other than the clean versions of the Japanese Kai sponsor cards.

A few things on the Malaysian dub:

-It's in Malay, not English. Many of you will remember that some DBZ movies were dubbed in Malaysia, in English.
-So far, it unfortunately has the badly scored Kikuchi music.
-Interestingly, the title music is different to the Kikuchi versions found on the Japanese episode 96 and the Toonzai versions. Also there's no text, the narrator just says the episode title with the title card showing.
-Japanese opening and ending.
-At least one of the eyecatches is kept
-A few second shot of
theKai promotional poster appears in the same instances where the Japanese sponsor cards appear in the Japanese version and with the same music; that is after the opening and next episode preview. The first shot is zoomed in to show Goku and Piccolo, the 2nd shot is zoomed in to show Goku and Vegeta.

I have a link to the Malaysian dub but it's a link to a full episode so I can't post it here. If anyone wants the link, PM me.

In Malay or that odd English dub they did for the Z movies? Whose music is used Yamamoto or Kikuchi?

It's in Malay.

Unfortunately, it's Kikuchi's music for now. Hopefully they'll change it to Yamamoto's music.

Prodigious! There's now a Malay and and an Indonesian dub. Kai is following in the footsteps of its fattened elder brother and becoming quite globalised. :P

Although I am disapointed that this isn't another Malaysian English dub.

That. Was. AWESOME.

......But in this clip, Goku shows his real SH*T......
A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Actually, a lot of Indonesian aren't really friendly with Malaysian. Let alone be its elder brother.....

Is Kai the Prime Minister of Malaysia or something?

In all seriousness, I said figuratively that DBZ is DBKai's fat elder brother. I understand that English isn't your native language, but I think you should take a bit more time to construe others' sentences before you reply.

Oh man what I'd give for them to release a Malaysian English dub of DB"Z"Kai.

"I see you do not know me! I am brother warrior Rais from the planet Beta!"
"Vat? I em alien?!"
"No! Vy vuud Gokuu be on this planet?"
"We sent him here when baby fools!"
