Movie 12 Official Name & Release Info

Post by Tanooki Kuribo » Thu Oct 20, 2005 2:37 pm

So, did anyone actually look at the trailers on the Movie 11 DVD? (or for that matter even watch movie 11? lol) cause if you click on the trailer for Dragonball Z you will see a picture (no video) of Super Saiyan 3 Goku with the text reading: "DragonBall Z: Fusion Reborn -Uncut Movie- Early 2006"

Very vauge details, but hey now it has an official name.

Update: In other DB DVD news, you can find two different views of the Dragonball Movie Box DVD set here:

Yeah, I can't wait! I mean, I HAVE seen it before, but that was in crappy fansub quality. I'm really looking forward to watching it in crystal clear quality with accurate subtitles; it's going to be like watching it for the first time! I hope the boxart will be nice, too.

Hmm. I haven't seen the trailer section of the DVD. I thought it'll just be some regular DBZ trailer or the Vegeta saga trailer. I have to check it out. I'm surprised that Funi didn't put in Janemba's name into the title. They have been putting the enemy's name in the title since movie 4. Lord Slug, Cooler's Revenge, Return of Cooler, Super Android 13!, Broly: TLSS, Bojack Unbound, and Bio-Broly. I suppose they'll call movie 13 something like Super Dragon Fist or something.

Knowing Funimation it would probably be like "Hildegarn: The legendary sword, and the dragon fist!" Or something equally goofy.

I've been saying for years that FUNimation would probably keep the movie 12 title relatively accurate to the original Japanese title, and that's for two reasons:

(1) It's just that cool
(2) "Janenba" (or "Janemba") doesn't roll off the tongue that easily

I'm still fully convinced that "Hildegarn" (or whatever they decide on for his name) won't be in the movie 13 title, either. They're not exactly in the same ballpark as "Cooler" or "Broly". In fact, anything longer than two syllables is probably too much for the kids :P.

Fine, then, heh. They can call it "DragonBall Z: The Last Movie".

I, too, am rather suprised about the movie title. Wouldn't this make the second dubbed Z movie with the title relatively close to the original title? (World's Strongest being the first.)

There's also some movie Footage on a bonus Feature entitled "The 10 Craziest Fighting Moves" which is included on "Dragonball GT: A Heroes Legacy."

They included Fat Janemba's dimensional phasing manuver...what little you see is rather impressive. I saw the movie off Kazaa once...the experience was traumatizing. It was two years ago, in which I had never watched a Japanese DBZ anything, nor heard of the Manga.

I was...a dubbie...

I was thinking for the final movie, would the Tipon (spelling? ) flute song be considerd as a piece of BGM or as sound effect? I ask cause if its a sound effect then it'll be played in the dub, but if its a piece of BGM it'll have to be changed. :(

It'll probably be changed; they did it to Gohan's whistle song in movie #4, they'll probably do it to the flute song, too.

BTW, it's Tapion, not Tipon.

If it is considered BGM they'd better not replace it with some alternative rock ballad. :x
