Should I buy the Dragon Box Movie Singles?
I've been thinking this for a while, but should I buy the Dragon Box Movie Singles? I've seen some screens of them and I really like the quality of them, so I was wondering if it was worth it.
Also this is somewhat of a n00b question, but is it possibly to screw around with the ISO to add in the english dub audio with subtitles? Just wondering, as I'm not really sure if it's possible or not.
Any feedback is appreciated.

I would hold off for now since Funimation was asked about the Dragon Box movie stuff yesterday at ACEN and:
DragonBox Movies release information would come around the end of the releases...no details yet

Oh well that's something I didn't know about. That'll really save me some money if they do release that. I would like to keep this topic open for other suggestions though, just in case they DON'T release it.Brad Redfield wrote:I would hold off for now since Funimation was asked about the Dragon Box movie stuff yesterday at ACEN and:

Well shit, it looks like we will be getting it. Sadly we would probably only get the "Z" movies.Brad Redfield wrote:I would hold off for now since Funimation was asked about the Dragon Box movie stuff yesterday at ACEN and:

Woohoo! Celebration!
I figured that it had a good chance of happening but something along the lines of confirmation is always good!

But how would the movies be released? Box set? singles? And this I'm really curious about giving them the kai treatment(redub with current va's accurate script as much as possible etc) Which could work wonders if marketed the right way.

No. He means that they would be given the same treatment as the new dub for DB Movie 1.AnimeMaakuo wrote:There would be no point since the movies aren't part of the manga.Sithlord4 wrote:But how would the movies be released? I honestly hope they DON'T take that route. If they did, they'd likely shift the focus of the release to the dub, use English title cards and credits (no alternate angles), then it'll essentially be the steelbooks all over again.Kendamu wrote:No. He means that they would be given the same treatment as the new dub for DB Movie 1.AnimeMaakuo wrote:There would be no point since the movies aren't part of the manga.Sithlord4 wrote:But how would the movies be released? Re: Should I buy the Dragon Box Movie Singles?
I doubt they will. So far FUNi's stuck to their word that the dub was "an afterthought" in regards to anything DBox related. I don't see them changing gears at this point. We'll probably get the most current already-existing dub tacked on as an optional language setting while the default option will continue to be Japanese w/subs.jpdbzrulz4sure wrote: I honestly hope they DON'T take that route. Re: Should I buy the Dragon Box Movie Singles?
Maybe not using the title cards but just an accurate redub in general, the domestic dragon boxes have a dub track but only one video, and there's subtitles where applicable.
Re: Should I buy the Dragon Box Movie Singles?
I'm just worried that it won't include the DB movies.
Re: Should I buy the Dragon Box Movie Singles?
Same, if they do, then a redub for 2-3?Pokewhiz7 wrote:I'm just worried that it won't include the DB movies.

Re: Should I buy the Dragon Box Movie Singles?
FUNimation, from what I understand, only has access to the Z movies in Dragon Box format. They don't own the rights to the three Dragon Ball movies or the tenth anniversary movie in Dragon Box form. So, I highly doubt their Dragon Box: The Movies release will contain anything outside of the thirteen Dragon Ball Z movies.
So mondo lame.

Hopefully, the two TV specials will make it on there, if not on the last volume of DBox Z.

Re: Should I buy the Dragon Box Movie Singles?
I have a suspect that they don't have acess to the DBox extras, and unfortunately the TV Specials are part of those. I have explained in detail my point of view in this post: http://www.daizex.fanboyreview.net/view ... 64#p466664, but even intuitively it doesn't make any sense, for Toei didn't even re-released the extras on the the JP singles, therefore I doubt they would give it to FUNimation for their releases.jpdbzrulz4sure wrote:Hopefully, the two TV specials will make it on there, if not on the last volume of DBox Z.
I might eventually have to be bite my tongue, of course.
PS.: Can somenone explain to me how the hell you mix a URL with a piece of your post in this forum?

Re: Should I buy the Dragon Box Movie Singles?
That really wouldn't make any sense to me. Funimation buying the extras from them and then including them on our Dragon Boxes would result in more saled and therefore more money to Toei in return. If they really want to milk DBZGT and make more easy money off it like they tried to do with Kai, they shouldn't hold back on the extras that the fans want.
