I survived against Oozaru Vegeta last night. It was actually easy, with the technique I picked up from an online startegy guide. If any of you want the link, here you go: http://www.cheatcc.com/psx2/dragonballz ... codes.html
Now, for any of you not wanting to click the link for one (or many) tips, you just have to press square about three times, then X. Hope that helps! :)

I swear it took me a good ten tries to beat Oozaru Vegeta. Just keep running away as fast as you can. Don't let him get too close to you

Oozaru Vegeta I thought was pretty hard, but Kid Buu survival as Vegeta is crazy. I still can't beat it =/ Anyone have good info on how to get the dragonballs? I read that you can get them from the temple fights at Kami's Palace in the Saiyan Saga, but... do I just go around destroying buildings until I find them or is there a better way... like can you get dragon radar or something? I need some activity to do in between getting my ass handed to me by Kid Buu since I've completed all the other sagas that are open to me. Still have two ??? sagas left though.

I found that the best way is to go to one of the fights between Kuririn and Yamucha. As soon as the match begins, do a Kamehameha to stall him, then make a mad dash behind the big building. Kuririn (or Yamucha, depending on who your opponent is) will usually blow through the building to get to you. It's right in the middle of the rubble. Sometimes it will fall off the pedestal, so make sure you look around the base of it. It won't go far. After that, just make sure you win the match.

Exactly the information I was looking for Gallagtor, thanks a lot. If I could only beat the 120 second time limit with Kid Buu now

I've got 100% on every saga and I liked some of the "what-ifs" they put in there (even though they should have made some storylines with some characters you don't see often in the anime, like Tenshinhan...). I wish I understood what they're saying since some of the scenes are kinda weird (Majin Buu vs Janemba...). The only thing left to do for me now is to keep collecting the Dragon Balls to unlock the remaining characters (I'm only missing Oozaru Vegeta and Oozaru Gohan).

It's funny that some of you can't survive as Vegeta against Kid Buu. I actually killed him before I managed to outlast him (when I killed him, I didn't get "clear"). Just wait until you have to stay alive for 90 seconds against him as Mr Satan...

EDIT: To get the Dragon Balls, I usually use the Tenshinhan vs Chaozu fight on Kami's lookout to get them. Chaozu usually goes away from you so that leaves you time to get the ball and then kill him.
The résistance dies but never gives up.

I find that charging up a ki blast is an easy way to keep enemies like Oozaru Vegeta and Kid Buu away from you, as in hold triangle for like a second, and let go, shooting a bigger ki blast. It knocks em off their feet for a few seconds.

It's way harder with Kid Buu vs. Vegeta though. I haven't beaten that one yet.

But, so far, it's a really fun game.

Jeez, I don't know. I survived against Buu with Vegeta and Satan on the first time for each. I've done the Oozaru Vegeta one 34 times and still haven't beaten it.

I rented it and I love it so far, plays a lot like Virtual On with a mix of Legends/Bukuu Tougeki. My only major complaints...

1. Not enough special moves

2. CPU is cheap as hell one second, then dumber than rocks the next.

3. Loading times (I hope there is a GameCube version...)

Otherwise, it is a pretty fun game, and refreshing from the Budokai franchise we all know and love/hate. Now its time to wait for Bukku Ressen/Super Sonic Warriors 2 and Chou DragonBall Z...hopefully they will be just as entertaining as Sparkling or even better (I have high hopes for Chou DBZ).

"Sparking". No "L" in there.

And can you please reduce your signature? As per this thread.

Sorry VegEX, I havent logged on in so long I had no idea there was a signature size restriction (I'm on it like a hobo on a ham sandwich!). Is it really "Sparking"? IGN and almost every other site list it as "Sparkling". Although it says clearly on the Japanese cover "Sparking" I guess, ya? Weird, very weird >_>

The name comes from the word shouted out in "CHA-LA HEAD-CHA-LA"... so yeah, it's supposed to be Sparking! :)

I think this game itself is sub par as a fighting game or as even a regular game but holy crap, the Japanese voices do much for me. Why the hell couldn't all the "Budokai" games be like this? I'm absolutely anticipating the re-release of Budokai 3 with Japanese voices. Already got rid of my old copy of Budokai 3 to make room for the "real" version. Yes I know the real "real" version is the Japanese version, but shut up... Budokai 3 is far better a game than Sparking/BT so it's going to be great replaying it again hearing the original voices of my beloved characters. If only they could do something about the music. What the hell is up with this wanna-be swing/jazz BS that plays while someone is trying to kill me? COME ON...

I always read the subtitles as "Sparkling!". Damn I need to get my eyes checked...

I personally enjoyed Budokai's original soundtrack though, it's really...uplifting. But you can't argue againest the original japanese bgm ethier. Shoulda just put in an option to switch soundtracks along with the language tracks.

Have you played Tenkaichi?!
I think everyone thinks a little like you at the start but when they win the first three battles (which took me a little over 3 hours) they grow to love the game. Okay so B3 was a great game, but apart from the namesakes and the source material is it right to compare the two?

And BTW: Bardock's mini "What-If" story really made me feel there were still people in this world who take the time to do some research before doing a game...ATM there are too many games thrown together for my liking...

Finally beat the Vegeta survival. I found a strategy that works very well... and it is beyond simple. It's actually kind of sad it worked because it seemed so cheesy. All I did was block to start, wait for him to get close, then squarex5, walk towards him(yes, walk, not dash) and do squarex5 again... then repeat until time is out. He seriously couldn't figure out how to stop me in 2 minutes. Ah, what a relief. As for the Mr.Satan and Mr. Buu survivals that follow I thought they were pretty simple... I just blocked through the fights from beginning to end; as long as you manage to block in the right direction on power hits and remember to back-pedal / teleport dodge the guard breakers he can't do nearly enough to kill you in the time limits given. You could probably do it with the Vegeta fight as well, but I thought of this simple strategy after I beat it. Anyway, 100% on all sagas now and only Roshi and Kid Goku left to wish for... it's too bad collecting dragon balls is really, really boring =(

Good game, I haven't had TOO much difficulty in playing it besides the survival parts. Right now I am at the start of the Majin Buu Saga, so it looks like it is gonna get even harder from what I have been hearing. Ok I saw the video that was posted and my question is how do you teleport forward? I saw that in that video during the fights with Majin Buu that the player knocked Majin Buu back some and then the player teleported towards Majin Buu and attacked again.

I put it on the Japanese voices and a lot of them sound...bored? I don't know they sound like they are tired of doing the characters they have done for so many years, especially Vegeta's japanese voice actor. Outside battles, his voice actor doesn't seem to put in a lot of passion like he did in the series. I don't know it could be just me, but still it is nice that they do have that japanese voice option.

I noticed that the Japanese voices didnt match the pre-battle talking, but then again what Japanese Dragonball game did (UB22 anyone?) They match with the English version pretty good though...where was I going with this post?...

You don't. You don't transform during battles. Different forms of characters have to be selected before you fight as them. For example, regular Trunks and SSJ Trunks are two "different" characters. Pressing DOWN and UP on the character select screen allows you to choose the different forms of the character (though some, like Trunks and Vegeta, have different base characters with their own individual alternate costumes/transformations).
:D I know this is a late reply but thankyou. Aw that sucks we can't transform (=_=) By the way I CANT KILL FREEZA!!! ROAR!!
If I'm dodging i wont get hit, if i'm protecting someone I won't let them die, and if I'm attacking...I WILL CUT YOU!!!!

Anybody remember DBZ "Legends" for the PS & Saturn? It's the only one out of the 3 PS games that hasn't been released domestically. I think that was the greatest DBZ game of all time. Innovative fighting system, tons of characters (more that UB22), and it rewarded you for following the manga but never forced you. "Super Sonic Warriors" tried to do the same thing but mixed in too much of the MVC/CVS team play aspect.
