Today Animania (a german Anime Magazine) announced that the 4 Dragon Ball Movies (Movie 1 to 3 were released in 2004, Movie 4 not to date) will be released in Germany in an all new DVD Box by Kazé (formally knows as Anime-Virtual), who also releases the DBZ Episodes on DVD. In contrast to the DBZ Boxsets, the DB Movies will all include a japanese Audio Track and german subtitles, along with a german dub.
The Path to Power enthält.

I'm looking forward to Movie 4, because it hasn't been dubbed until now, and maybe MAYBE german Fans will finally get a good german dub of a Dragon Ball Product

There is ONE good German dub of a Dragon Ball product. Dragon Ball Movie 1! Pretty good (although not perfect) cast, decent script and good acting. Movie 2 and 3 suffer from silly cast choices.
However I doubt that Movie 4 will be as good as movie 1. Except this first three movies, the dubbing studio did always cast a young (untalented) boy for Goku (or Gohan) Even in Dragon Ball GT (the newest German dub of a Dragon Ball product).
I have low expectations. Ihe first DVD releases of the movies were pretty fucked up with bad video footage, dubtitles (dub script as subs for the Japanese track) and on top of that ugly menus. Kazé is sometimes pretty lazy, so I doubt that this release will be improved so much.

LOL You're right pal.
However, probably the thing will be that the subs won't be a decent translation. I almost can guarantee you that the subs will have the German name changes (i.e. Son Goku -> "Son-Goku", Yamucha -> "Yamchu", Pu'er -> "Pool").

What's wrong with the German dub? It seemed pretty good IMO.

Movie 4 without a german dub ??? Do Kazé have no money for voice actors to redub Movie 1-3 and for dubbing Movie 4 ???
I am planning now to import the US Dragon Boxes and all other upcoming FUNimations original japanese releases of DB for example Dragon Box The Movies, Dragon Ball and GT Dragon Boxes. The americanized Japan Dragon Boxes from FUNi are the ultimate collection for a non-japanese-speaking hardcore fan!
The word "KAI" means in the old North Germanic language Frisian "Kämpfer engl. Fighter" respectively "Krieger engl. Warrior"!

I'm esspecially upset about the release, because a few months ago Kazé said on their Forum that they would not release a movie without a german dub anymore, because nobody would buy a Dub-Only Release in Germany.
And now they ARE releaseing sth only with Subs again and it's Dragon Ball - the most popular Anime Franchise in Germany!

So today Kazé told us on they Message Board that "Toei doesn't want a german dub for the Movie, and that they don't know why."
That's just bull**** in my eyes! I always though that the Company is negotiating with the japanese Company and that they agree on certain thing and also get an explaination why. But it seems either Toei doesn't want to give explainations or Kazé's just to stupid to ask why.
Here's the original german Post:
Es handelt sich leider nicht um eine Fehlermeldung.
Bei großen, wichtigen Lizenzen (siehe auch One Piece) ist es Toeis neue Strategie, alle europäischen Synchros selbst zu beauftragen und zu kontrollieren. Wenn Toei nicht beabsichtigt, den 4. Film zu synchronisieren, sind uns die Hände gebunden.
Warum das so ist, können wir nur raten, aber wir kämen in Teufels Küche, wenn wir öffentlich Spekulationen anstellen würden...
Just ridiculous...

Hmm, maybe Toei really is starting to take control themselves of Dragonball all over Europe.

Not only Dragonball:
In November 2010 Kazé also announced they had aquired the Right to release the 10 One Piece Movies over here, but the dub will be handled by Toei.
Seems to me that all Toei licenses over here will be controlled by them themselves, even though they mostly have no plan what they are doing (no Dub for DB Movie 4 for example!)

So finally we got a Date and Boxart for the Movie Collection:
September, 30 2011 it will be released. It was pushed from April to September and still kazé cannot manage to produce a german Dub to Movie 4, which means that the longes DB Movie won't get a german Version!
Kazé blames Toei that they "aren't allowed to produce one!"
...
Oh, yeah: The Boxart:
And btw: the "unfinished" Product will cost 59.99 Euro! More than a half of the included Material hasn't got a Dub! They are f***ing insane!

And for those that are in the US, 59.99 Euros is $85.53 USD. That's $45.54 more than Funimation's release of DragonBall Movies 1-4! Why the insane price?!
Forum quote of the moment:
Castor Troy wrote:You're all doing it wrong.
DBZ bootlegs have the movie 9 cover with the pioneer movie 2 description on the back and the disc actually has a Japanese soap opera in MEPG2.

I glanced at this just as I was clicking on another page and thought that it said "Release of Dragon Ball Z Movie 14 announced". I'm disappointed now...
This will never not be my sig:
VegettoEX wrote:"Snoop Lion" is just a character he's playing for his reggae album and documentary. Him saying that it's his new name is all part of the character.
I can't believe this is on-topic.

So when it doesn't sell good they can say dragonball doesn't sell.
