Just a head-ups that the moderator on the official forums confirmed (on the Naruto forums) that Project Age will be at E3 next week and NamcoBandaiEU have already started uploading E3 2011 trailers so we may see the trailer tomorrow afternoon. We'll have a fair bit of information heading our way next week then I'd assume nothing until the next V-Jump and then the game will get it's first big push and premiere in a playable form on the 30th of June at France's Japan Expo.

Just a wee breakdown of things to come.
I know this is nitpicking because it's a temporary title, but if you're going to call it "Project Age" just call it "Project Age 2011." "Age" is the word used on the Dragonball timeline for "year." So, what you're saying is "Project Year" without adding the actual year. It feels really incomplete and it, for some really odd reason, drives me up the wall.

Okay, now that I've said something, it probably won't bother me nearly as much.

As for the new names, I chose Saiyan Rising based on how I imagined Chris Sabat saying the titles in that tone he uses for FUNimation trailers. That one sounded best in my head, but now I realize that I was imagining him say it as "Say-in" instead of "Sigh-an" when I was doing the poll. I guess I kinda messed up there. Also, I avoided that Tenkaichi title like the plague as if it might actually change the gameplay for the better or something.

I have never met someone as anal as you

Should I also call E3 the Electronic Entertainment Expo?

The reason I call it 'Project Age' is because it sounds better and flows better than 'Project Age 2011'. Just like I'm not calling it Dragon Ball: Game Project Age 2011. Because if I don't add 'game' then how will people know it's a game? It just feels incomplete.

Okay, i'm done mocking now but I can't pass up on the chance for some joking around

It's not about being anal.
Should I also call E3 the Electronic Entertainment Expo?
There's a difference. Going by your method, we should just call it "E" or "Electronic Enter" or something like that. "E3" is a complete way of doing it. What you're doing is like calling "Dragonball GT" "DBG" or "Dragonba." "Age" is actually a term in Dragonball that is followed by a year number. Using "Age 2011" is combining the actual real world year with Dragonball terminology and it makes a neat little pun.
The reason I call it 'Project Age' is because it sounds better and flows better than 'Project Age 2011'. Just like I'm not calling it Dragon Ball: Game Project Age 2011. Because if I don't add 'game' then how will people know it's a game? It just feels incomplete.
"Game" isn't part of the pun. It can be removed the same way we can call "The Legend of Zelda" just "Zelda." The pun, like I said above, is using Dragonball terminology for what year it is with an actual real world year. Separating the two is like starting a joke and then walking away silently right before the punchline.
Okay, i'm done mocking now but I can't pass up on the chance for some joking around
Making fun of me doesn't change the fact that you're ruining the pun and making it out to sound a lot more important to me than it really is. It's a bunch of crap that I had to go this far to even explain it. Again.

I genuinely think it's funny you care this much about '2011'. To be fair the full name is 'Game Project Age 2011' but I was calling it Project Age, you really think you'd get a serious reply from posting a paragraph whining about the missing of '2011'? It seems to me it is important to you and your reply at me poking fun at you shows it. Also, why bother countering my points? I made it clear they were jokes and the E3 one was used because it was in my first post. Silly Kendamu.

Sorry for not including the pun in every post I make on this forum. From now on in every post I shall call it 'Game Project Age 2011' just for you ;)

Oh and just a heads-up, everyone gets the pun and it doesn't need explaining once let alone twice. Still, good on you for doing it anyway.

edit
Saying that, is it even really a pun? A pun would be if one of the words had a multiple meaning and, well, none of them really do. It's really just a play on words, if even that.

I went with Ultimate Tenkaichi in the hopes that having "ultimate" in the title would result in the best DBZ game ever. It's slim, I know, but hey, I'll take what I can get.

And in the box, I told them to stop making so many damn fighting games and make an action adventure using the Tenkaichi engine, or a console RPG. I'm getting tired of fighting games.

Meh. I just put "Ultimate Tenkaichi". I always missed the "Tenkaichi" part in the Raging Blast series, and "Tenkaichi Z" just doesn't sound right.

Please do. It'll make my coffee that much better knowing that somewhere out there someone took my self-intended jabs about being nitpicky over something dumb seriously enough to change how they type something. It will make my day that much better to know that someone got personally offended over something someone else directed at themselves to the point that they'll, in the end, take it much much more seriously than I'll ever remember by the middle of next week.

Just pretend now that everything you've said about how I'm being too serious about "2011" is what I'm saying to you about "pun" and "play on words" and get back to me via PM when you're done arguing it out with yourself. I'll give you a prize or something.

Funny how you saw any of this as me trying to "take you down", hilarious actually. I was just mocking you for your initial statement much as you were making fun of yourself. However you took umbrage to that and made a massive-ass reply back to me. Essentially you were feeding a troll and you never feed the trolls. You've replied multiple times each time seeming more and more upset and it's funny for me, my initial statement was not supposed to strike such a nerve against you and should of really been left at that.

You didn't want to leave it at that however, you wanted to make a serious reply to a joke.

Also, I'm not offended. To me you seem to be the one who was offended, I've already stated a number of times I was joking. However you don't seem to be able to take a joke, sad really.

Why would I argue with myself? You make very little sense... Well done again for trying though, the more you reply and the more I perceive you've been offended it just gets funnier to me.

Let me break it down for you:

1) Your first post was an entire paragraph about one person on an internet forum not including a pun in every single post on a placeholder name for a game.
2) I poked fun at you
3) You baww'd and made a srs reply
4) lulz were had

Here's the important part dude, I'm not serious and I'm not offended (although you seem to be) I'm still poking fun at you. ;)

I reckon Ultimate Tenkaichi sounds the best. The others are pretty generic considering there is always the word Sayain in them.
They also said in the first scan that they want to reawaken the spirit what made the Tenkaichi games so good/popular.

The number of titles with Saiya-jin in them makes me wonder if this new game is reseting the roster again. Perhaps even limiting the roster to no further than the Saiya-jin arc....

Unless, of course, the theory of an original story involving more Saiya-jins turns out to be accurate.

Well, Vegeta is in his Android saga outfit and can turn SSJ, so we can rule that out.

I also prefer the title "Saiyan Rising".
About the new game,i would like to say that i don't expect anything new.The producers behind these games are conservative,so IMO this game will be like all the others.
On the other hand,DB Online has the correct approach to develop an old franchise.

Ah, I missed that (not been following this too closely since I don't have a current gen console yet). Maybe it is the original story featuring new Saiya-jins thing. Or maybe they're just being weird with the names.

Yeah. I'm seriously thinking that as well. They're hinting at something with those names and that Great Ape. Or they could just be showing off giant characters. I believe the former more, but I can't leave the latter out. After all, that's what made the BT series famous; big ass rosters and big ass characters.

Hopefully we get to see a new trailer, I'm anxious to see if I need to get my hopes up or actually pass on playing a home console DB game.

I went by the "less likely to be poorly pronounced and doesn't sound flat-out awkward" factor in the names and picked "Saiyan Rising" (even though Saiyan is always mispronounced)

Here's the way i looked at it:

- Dragon Ball Z: "Seiyan" Rising (the less shitty option)
- Dragon Ball Z: "Tenkeichi" Z (Too many Zs, and brings back to the "Bootykai Tenkeichi" days)
- Dragon Ball Z: Awakening "Seiyans" (Yes, they're sleeping now because of how awkward that name is)
- Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate "Tenkeichi" (The way...it was meant to be played? Come on, how generic can you get?)
- Dragon Ball Z: "Seiyan" Warriors (Oh, that's how generic they can get. Seems like a throwback to SuperSonic Warriors)

"Saiyan Rising" or GFTO (Go For The Original)

Left a comment on how the music change took away from the experience of playing the show, which was the game's goal to begin with, and an request to keep the name that will be chosen in the japanese version because all 5 choices were terrible.

We just have so little to go on at this point it's hard to call. I mean, the original story theory only exists because of a few seconds of Goku facing off against an Oozaru that's not wearing body armor. It could be a new Saiya-jin character who isn't wearing armor for whatever reason (if this story is post Freeza it's plausible that they have quit wearing those armors), or it could just be Kid Goku as an Oozaru, and the only giant that was finished yet when they were making the promotional stuff, so the only one they could show to go "See, giants are back, and they're even BIGGER!" with. OR that could be a cutscene featuring Oozaru Gohan from a Tree of Might story mode sequence.

I'm hoping the E3 showing will give us some actual clue as to what the hell is going on with this game.

That is a really horrible and odd phrasing. "Saiyan Awakening" flows so much better.

And it is that name, coupled with Saiyan Rising, that's got me thinking 'new storyline' the most.

I'd go with that. Still sounds slightly better than "Saiyan Rising".

And yeah, it kinda does, but then they write about how the graphics are closer to the manga and that the original japanese voices and music are gonna be in... I don't know...
