I think money, equipment, time, and publisher have everything to do with development. Including load times.Taku128 wrote:Loading times are typically optimized at the end of a game's development cycle, shortly before a game comes out. Sometimes game reviewers are sent near final versions of the game a couple weeks before release where the load times are significantly longer than the retail version because the development team hasn't finished optimizing it. It doesn't take two and a half years to optimize loading.

If it was that easy then Spike would have done it, to be fair though we still don't know the game does actually use the cutscenes to load and whether there'd be any change even if they did pre-load. It may just be best for them not to.Taku128 wrote:Loading times are typically optimized at the end of a game's development cycle, shortly before a game comes out. In Ladder Mode in the new Mortal Kombat the game loads two additional characters when you're fighting against Shang Tsung without any noticeable increase in load time before the match, and a Mortal Kombat character has a lot more in terms of animations than Raging Blast characters do.

We already figured that out when that scan originally leaked around the time the game was announced.Saimaroimaru wrote:Story mode is back.

I guess the lack of sales in the Rb series sent them the message that we want the three button combinations to use a move back in the series. Oh lord, well perhaps it will slow the fights down.JulieYBM wrote:So, the controls are returning to the Sparking controls, eh?

Lol the scan is already a month old. And I'll hold my horses as to if they'll really fully bring back the Tenkaichi controles.
The only thing I expect from the gameplay is the higher pace. RB was extremely slow in comparison to Tenkaichi. I didn't like that at all.

I don't know why RB felt slow. You think it's because of the larger battle fields? Or the health?InfernalVegito wrote:The only thing I expect from the gameplay is the higher pace. RB was extremely slow in comparison to Tenkaichi. I didn't like that at all.

It was the actual speed of combat. They punched slower, they kicked slower, they fired ki slower, they fly slower, EVERYTHING is slower. lol While it may have been more fluid in RB, the character's moved at like half the speed compared to the Tenkaichi series. It also doesn't help that they removed the rumble feature, which at least would have helped to make your fighter seem more powerful, and in effect, a bit faster as well (the rumble when you take off across the entire make would help to make it feel like you really moving with some oomph).mysticboy wrote:I don't know why RB felt slow. IDK, the battles in RB2 were shorter for me.

Perhaps something like that for the ultimates and also make it to where the player hit can reduce some of the damage like in the Budokai games.

In my personal opinion the fluidity of the game is far more important than punching quickly. The hits also feel far like there's more force in the hits because the attacks sort of 'snap'. They start slow and then hit quite fast, plus combination attacks are get quicker during them.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:It was the actual speed of combat. Since SSJ Bardock is in DB Heroes, do you think he'll be in this game as well?

I wouldn't mind if SS3 Broli and Vegeta returned and SS3 Trunks and SS Bardock were added. Spike's characters are all basically just reskins, so why not?mysticboy wrote:Since SSJ Bardock is in DB Heroes, do you think he'll be in this game as well?

Not really, Dimps' games had more depth than Spikes'. The characters played fairly different from each other. Dimps' depth may not be at Super DBZ level (never played it), but its better than Spike, especially in the Raging Blast games where I can do the same turn around, multi-hit, gut punch, etc combos with every character. Follow-ups changed them a little bit, but at least something like groups of 10 characters shared the same follow-ups, so...Saimaroimaru wrote:And aside from Super Dragon Ball Z, Dimps characters aren't reskins?TheDevilsCorpse wrote:I wouldn't mind if SS3 Broli and Vegeta returned and SS3 Trunks and SS Bardock were added. Shiny new scan!
From what I can tell the first image requires the player (Goku) to press 'x' in order to do... something.
Second image is just showing off Vegeta
and then of course the destruction we saw on the teaser is confirmed as not just being part of the stage
