Re: Dragon Ball: Game Project Age 2011 (Pre-Release Discussi
The Oozaru from the end of the trailer managed to find a set of clothes since his debut. lol I was honestly more intrigued by the screen when it wasn't Oozaru Vegeta though, but it does look nice anyway. It's great to see him at a decent size for once (since Budokai 1), at least now the normal characters don't reach his stomach. I'm hoping he'll be playable, but I know it's just a boss fight. It does seem to be interactive as well, similar to the recent Naruto games...not sure if I like that, but I guess as long as its just a story mode thing I won't complain. Destruction is nice too, I'm curious to see how extensive it is. The Kamehameha seems to blow away a lot of the ground and background, but what happens if say a Genki Dama explodes on the ground in the middle of the stage? Hmm, new scan and I'll I get is more questions. Pretty excited for Japan Expo now. lol
My only problem now is that Oozaru Vegeta found his set of clothes, but why is Goku wearing his Cell Arc dogi?

I'd say for the same reason Ozaru Vegeta has just found his clothes, they're showing off the best-looking models right now and they probably leave Goku's costumes till quite late seeing as it's just a small adjustment to make.TheDevilsCorpse wrote: My only problem now is that Oozaru Vegeta found his set of clothes, but why is Goku wearing his Cell Arc dogi?
Not sure though, perhaps it's just not in.

Quick Time Events!? Maybe.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

You know, the fact that they used the regular Oozaru model first and now have a Oozaru Vegeta version tells me that the Vegeta version might not have been done when they first cut the trailer. It also tells me that they bothered to waste their time on a normal version before doing the Oozaru Vegeta, so both will likely be included in the game. I'm willing to bet we'll probably have to face off as Piccolo versus Oozaru Gohan.Jaruka wrote:I'd say for the same reason Ozaru Vegeta has just found his clothes, they're showing off the best-looking models right now and they probably leave Goku's costumes till quite late seeing as it's just a small adjustment to make.

I'm hoping the alternate dogi are included (not just for Goku, others need love too Spike!). I was really hoping this game would be a step up in all directions, a few more character from RB2, more costumes (especially for those who need them), tweaked gameplay, the visuals are already better (still on the fence about how SS looks though), improved destruction, etc. But I'm just slightly worried that it won't be now. Had they just been showing images that could have been from vs mode or whatever, I wouldn't have said anything since the Cell Arc dogi is almost always the default outfit. But the screens with Oozaru Vegeta are 99% likely from story mode, which should be using the correct costumes and stuff.
I dunno, I'll just wait and see. Complaining can happen afterwards if its a letdown. lol

Looks like Spike is truly is putting some major effort into this game. This game should make up for the past few DBZ games that we got in the past two years.

Is it just me or does the Oozaru not look very much like his anime/manga counterpart?

They're really pushing this Giant Monkey thing. I hope that doesn't mean this is exclusively their gimmick. Especially if it's something like a quick time event.

I would be very disappointed if Goku had his costume only as his Cell/Buu arc attire. It never made sense that this is always his default when it should be the Raditz arc attire. I think that's the only thing Burst Limit did right...
This game looks promising, and it seems they have epic mercy locks (see Tenshinhan vs Goku or Goku vs Ma Jr.)
The only disappointing thing is that it follows the DBZ story line again.

Well, as I see the Goku vs Vegeta and Vegeta is in his Oozaru form I can make a pretty good guess!mysticboy wrote:We don't know that yet.Attitudefan wrote:The only disappointing thing is that it follows the DBZ story line again.

The only thing stopping me from assuming it's the same story is the second scan:Attitudefan wrote:Well, as I see the Goku vs Vegeta and Vegeta is in his Oozaru form I can make a pretty good guess!
That sounds similar to all the others, however, the other games basically flat out state: "play through the Dragon Ball story" or something like that. The description in the scan gives off a different vibe to me for some reason. It seems like they're going do something like what Dimps did with Budokai 2. It's still Raditz to Buu, but you don't know what will happen in between. The enhanced story mode will immerse players in the rich variety of the Dragon Ball universe...
That or it's a fancy way of saying play through the DB story.

I bet it's a fancy way to say story. I was excited for Tenkaichi 3 because it said "create your own story". Yeah right...
This is how marketing works and trust me, It'll be nothing like Budokai 2 or Tenkaichi 2. If they worked on it for another year, expanding the story or making the gameplay more in depth then yes, I'll say then it'll be a better game. For now, I'm sticking to "It's going to be a short story like BT3"

I for one would like to see Bio Broly to be in the game. His chances are very unlikely since a lot of fans never like him and he is often the least favorite character from a lot of fans.

To be honest though, I don't play DBZ games for story. So if it's the same story, I really wouldn't mind.

I guess, but I like one player in games and I always think they should be improved, especially a Dragonball game!mysticboy wrote:To be honest though, I don't play DBZ games for story. So if it's the same story, I really wouldn't mind.

I do agree with one thing though: they seriously need to take their time with these games. It's really Bandai Namco's fault they keep pushing them out each year. Granted, there wasn't any Spike games in 2008 but still...Attitudefan wrote:I guess, but I like one player in games and I always think they should be improved, especially a Dragonball game!mysticboy wrote:To be honest though, I don't play DBZ games for story.
