That didn't have the Japanese vocals, only the chorus. They later took even that out.

Actually, Krillin's impalement scene did have the Japanese vocals. It was the scene when Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin were attacking Freeza after he killed Dende that had the instrumental.

That scene was ridiculously edited on Nicktoons. They refuse to show the fact that Kuririn is actually getting impaled in the stomach and instead remove any essence of it. I can only imagine the God-awful edits 4kids must have made to that scene... Freeza probably just starts flying and the episode ends.

Were those Japanese words? Sounded more like Latin chanting.Actually, Krillin's impalement scene did have the Japanese vocals. It was the scene when Piccolo, Gohan, and Krillin were attacking Freeza after he killed Dende that had the instrumental.
No, 4kids kept it exactly as the Nicktoons version. That scene was ridiculously edited on Nicktoons. It's not ridiculously edited. It's a super violent scene that really isn't (American) kid-friendly. You have to remember, it's a Saturday morning cartoon for kids. I actually think they did a good job of editing the scene. Instead of Krillin getting impaled he just gets stabbed. Not a big loss, and the basic idea of what's happening is still there.Ranmarotto wrote:That scene was ridiculously edited on Nicktoons. I think people really just feel that way because of how it was done on Toonami back in the day. I seem to recall the horn going through Krillin, but no blood, and minimal (but still existing) shaking of his body before tossing it.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:It's not ridiculously edited. It probably caused confusion for the children viewers when Krillin suddenly has a hole in the back of his armor later on but, other than that, I agree. They could've done a lot worse, like skip straight to Krillin falling so it looks like he got head butted or something.Tanooki Kuribo wrote:It's not ridiculously edited. Honestly, I thought the edit made the Kuririn's impalement wasn't all that bad. I mean, the scene where Freeza blows him up was edited to a much worse extent.
So mondo lame.

No, actually. I think they edited it so that the children knew Kuririn was impaled, but there was no direct showing so Nicktoons/4kids couldn't face complaints (or even lawsuits) from parents about the scene.MetroidJunkie wrote:It probably caused confusion for the children viewers when Krillin suddenly has a hole in the back of his armor.

The edit made it relatively clear that he was stabbed, but not impaled as the horn doesn't come out from his back, which means that there is indeed no reason for the hole in the back of his armour.funrush wrote:No, actually. Although at least it's better than when Yamcha is attacked by #20 in the Android arc, isn't even stabbed, and then has a hole in his dougi for no apparent reason for the following episodes.

Well, in that version, it would be obvious to children that #20 ripped out a hole in Yamcha's dougi to piss him off, and Yamcha, in horror at the sight of his ruined uniform, began compulsively bleeding and suffered a heart attack.SaiyamanMS wrote:Although at least it's better than when Yamcha is attacked by #20 in the Android arc, isn't even stabbed, and then has a hole in his dougi for no apparent reason for the following episodes.

Are you kidding? They may not show it (They didn't have any convenient shots from the back that obscure it) but you can clearly hear a stabbing sound as Yamcha's being held. It's simply happening off screen.SaiyamanMS wrote:The edit made it relatively clear that he was stabbed, but not impaled as the horn doesn't come out from his back, which means that there is indeed no reason for the hole in the back of his armour.funrush wrote:No, actually. So the episode that is airing right now has the Yamamoto tracks in it. They need to make up their minds on what they're going to do.
Re: DragonBall Z Kai - TV Network Version (CW4Kids\Toonzai)
Yeah, both episodes had Yamamoto.

Either FUNi or 4Kids is really half-assing it with the music change.

Re: DragonBall Z Kai - TV Network Version (CW4Kids\Toonzai)
They should pay more attention on what they broadcast. Many times, Yamamoto has slipped into the CW version of Kai. It gets pretty annoying too, especially when attempting to analyze and differentiate the episode with both scores to see how they play out against each other. Whatever, the Kikuchi score's music placement for the Namek arc wasn't great anyway.
So mondo lame.

"Only a Chilling Elegy" is not a Yamamoto song, so it's still okay. Same deal with "Dragon Soul," "Yeah!Break!Care!Break!," "Saiyan Blood," and "Super Dragon Soul." So those technically aren't Yamamoto songs.
....Unless you're saying they went back to using the Yamamoto score. In which case, yes, that is weird.

A "rather haggard" translation of a line from Future Gohan in DBZ, provided to FUNimation by Toei:
"To think of fighting that is this fun...so, it was pleasant fight, as many as, therefore is a feeling which is good the fight where."

Re: DragonBall Z Kai - TV Network Version (CW4Kids\Toonzai)
Saiyan Blood actually *is* a Yamamoto song, and isn't in the new soundtrack.
The other inserts are fine though.
