Just when I thought this project was over with. Well I am looking forward to seeing the Ocean dub of Dragon Ball Kai. Maybe my 2011 prediction of it being released this year will come true (I was beginning to think it wouldn't).

I have a feeling Ocean Studio's Kai will be more accurate than FUNimation's dub.

Peter Kelamis or Ian James Corlett might not be returning for the Ocean Dub. Unless they're not allowed to say anything.Attitudefan wrote:I want Peter Kelamis!! Then I'll die happy! Oh boy oh boy! I'm so excited! They better have a DVD release! THEY BETTER!

Re: Ocean Studios' "Dragon Ball Kai" dub seems to be coming.
Sorry for the double post, but one voice actor that I know will be changed is Raditz. The last actor, Jason Gray-Stanford won't be returning as his last role was Raditz back in '96! I heard he had retired from acting.
Oh and if anyone wants to hear Drummond play Vegeta, this is probably how he'll sound like. This was recorded in 2011 (or last year I dunno)
Honestly, it sounds too low compared to what it was before...

So excited about this now, I hope he wasn't just getting ready to watch Dragon Ball Kai!
Hopefully we'll get some more information soon.

Hmm, if this is true, you think it's going to be an impersonation on Ayre's Freeza?

Even though Chris Ayres' Freeza is a really good voice, I'd like Ocean to try something different. If they were just copying FUNimation it would be a bit boring.

I agree. If you listen to Newstone, it actually sounds like some creepy lizard thing. You know, if they tried something different, it would be interesting to what they can create!

Crap, I checked his older Twitter tweets. He's Freeza.

I'm actually thinking that they may not cast Peter or Ian. Maybe they're trying to hire a Masako-like actor for Goku this time around. Who knows, Lee Tockar may be doing a Ryusei Nakao-like voice!SSJSteve wrote:Peter Kelamis or Ian James Corlett might not be returning for the Ocean Dub. Why would he make Freeza sound like Vegeta?funrush wrote: I'm actually thinking that they may not cast Peter or Ian. Maybe they're trying to hire a Masako-like actor for Goku this time around. Who knows, Lee Tockar may be doing a Ryo Horikawa-like voice!

Maybe they're taking their time trying to find a cast like the Japanese version which is why this has taken forever for anything to actually suffice. But, if they can bring us a Death Note quality dub, I'll gladly watching both this and FUNimation's Kai dubs. Hell, I'm a fan of both studios, so I'll end up watching both anyway.

Peter does kind of sound like Japanese Goku! That makes no sense.
