How Much is TOO Much for a Daizenshuu?

Post by DragonBoxZTheMovies » Fri Jun 24, 2011 5:25 am

I found a copy of Daizenshuu 6 for sale. It's $55 and I'm not sure if that is a rip-off.

Deals around $20-$30 are impossible to find now. That and mostly higher prices are the prices you're gonna find. If you're interested, I say you should take it.

I just paid $20 from an Ebayer who insists it's in excellent condition. I'll let you know when it arrives, but you can get them at reasonable prices if you're patient.

I paid 11-19 USD before shipping for each of mine from my friend in japan. This was within the past 2 months. They were all in new condition. Volume 7 was the most expensive at 19 dollars and volume 1 was the cheapest at 11. The rest averaged about 14 bucks apiece.

$55 is a bit much for volume 6.

If I was you, I’d go to Manarake when buying the Daizenshuu. I got volumes 1-7 for about £70. All in mint condition.

Here’s some cheaper:

I paid $20 each for 1-7 from a Mitsuwa Marketplace here in CA and around $10-$15 for the cardass ones from Anime Expo and from someone on this forum.

Last fall I paid $80 for TV Animation 3 since I wanted it so badly after a decade.

Worth every penny to have all 10.

I know where to find Daizenshuus 2 and 3 for $25. But I won't tell you where, as I plan on buying them as soon as I have enough money. In fact, from the same place Daizenshuus 8, 9 and 10 were just sold for $15.10 in good condition, which pissed me off a bit, since I really wanted 10.

As much as I love anime, anything I can't read because it's in a different language isn't worth more than twenty dollars.

I guess it depends on the volume and the place your getting them from...
You can get vol. 2 from kinokuniya for about $30
and I got vol. 4 [$12] and vol. 7 [$18] from book-off

I think $55 sounds pretty high, but I'm not surprised to be honest [I've seen vol.7 going for over $100 O_O on ebay] So If I were you I would just keep looking around. I'd join one of the Kinokuniya pages on Facebook and ask them about ordering it and S&H charges to get an idea. They are pretty helpful and seem to answer most questions.

One got sold for £8 on eBay.co.uk the other day, I think it was Daizenshuu 2 or 4.

I think more than $15-20 is too much unless you're decent/fluent in Japanese. I mean, I can't picture myself spending more than that on something I can't do anything with except look at the pictures.

But then wouldn't that be an issue of how much you're personally "willing" to pay versus how much the item is "worth"?

If you're a collector I think these items are priceless... though our pockets might not necessarily agree >_<
