Any Dragon Box: the Movie news?
Is there any news about Funimation's possible Dragon Box: the Movies? And is the only thing the public knows is that they have the rights to the 13 DBZ movies?

Re: Any Dragon Box: the Movie news?
FUNimation recently Tweeted that info on Dragon Box: The Movies will come after they release Dragon Box 7. So it is very likely that they will be releasing it. And, they only do have access to the 13 Z movies. They do not have access to the three Dragon Ball movies or the 10th Anniversary movie. So, when and if they do release their Dragon Box: The Movies, I would say it would be somewhat of an incomplete release considering we would only get 13 out of the 17 movies. But, hey, I'm not complaining. The movies in Dragon Box format look amazing, and an American release would be terrific.
So mondo lame.

Got a source for this news? Or just blind speculation?GotenDaisuki wrote:FUNimation recently Tweeted that info on Dragon Box: The Movies will come after they release Dragon Box 7. Next quest: Buy the Super: Broly and Super Hero Blurays, also Daima whenever that releases in the states. Also the Super Manga!

I recall first being notified on a Daizex topic, though I can't put my finger on which it was.SuperSaiyan3Goku wrote:Got a source for this news? Or just blind speculation?

Re: Any Dragon Box: the Movie news?
I've expected it to only be the Z movies. I figure they'll probably add the Two specials to it (IF we don't see them on the last DBox Z) and they might even do it in a 2-box release.
Since there's never been a comprehensive "Complete Movie Collection" boxed set release, I think that's what this is gonna be.
I also think that means we'll get the Full Dragon Box treatment again, but this time the English dub will be the standard track with Japanese being optional. They'll try to market it to all demographics (Hopefully without any of the "US Broadcast" Audio tracks though) since, unlike the Bricks, there is no "Complete Movie Collection" ever released in the states before.
I expect to either get a Dragon Box: THE MOVIES set, or a Vol. 1 and 2 release, with the movies split down the middle. We'll either get a 7 and 6 situation or an 8 and 7 situation (If the Specials are on this box)
Maybe they'll label it "Dragon Box Z: THE MOVIES", that way they can do a Dragon Box: THE MOVIES later, with the DB Movies, if we ever see that series in DBox format. (God I hope we do, not just the movies but the series too)

Yea, I would assume they would.DemonRin wrote:Maybe they'll label it "Dragon Box Z: THE MOVIES", that way they can do a Dragon Box: THE MOVIES later, with the DB Movies, if we ever see that series in DBox format. (God I hope we do, not just the movies but the series too)
Also I was wondering if they're just going to release the movies under a "Dragon Box: The Movies" DVD line or are they going to actually release one box set containing all 13 movies. I have a feeling I already know the answer but, it would be awesome to have one box containing all the movies.
Re: Any Dragon Box: the Movie news?
I don't know how you can really call it "Dragon Box: The Movies" if it's not actually released in a Box Set format.

I wouldn't like FUNimation to put out singles. I would much rather have a complete Box Set. I'm sure we all would. But, knowing FUNimation....

Yea, because then the "box" part of "DragonBox: The Movies" would lose it's meaning.GotenDaisuki wrote:I wouldn't like FUNimation to put out singles. I would much rather have a complete Box Set. I'm sure we all would. But, knowing FUNimation....
Re: Any Dragon Box: the Movie news?
I'm really hoping for one big box. But I'd be willing to settle for two.
Re: Any Dragon Box: the Movie news?
I expect either of these scenarios:
1. All 13 Movies in one box set
2. Two box sets with six or seven films each
3. "Double Feature" type release
4. Individual releases...
Either way, it'll be nice to have official releases for these movies.

The "one big box" could really be about the same size as a regular US DBox volume.Gozar wrote:I'm really hoping for one big box. But I'd be willing to settle for two.

Re: Any Dragon Box: the Movie news?
Yeah, especially since on the Japanese release, DBZ Movies 1, 2 and 3 were all on one disc, so it could easily work likes this:Kendamu wrote:The "one big box" could really be about the same size as a regular US DBox volume.Gozar wrote:I'm really hoping for one big box. Disc 1:
DBZ Movies 1, 2 and 3

DBZ Movies 4 and 5

DBZ Movies 6 and 7
Disc 4:
DBZ Movies 8 and 9
Disc 5:
DBZ Movies 10 and 11
Disc 6:
DBZ Movies 12 and 13
PERFECT!

Oh, I know. By "big box" I meant the contents inside (That being every Movie).Kendamu wrote:The "one big box" could really be about the same size as a regular US DBox volume.Gozar wrote:I'm really hoping for one big box. But I'd be willing to settle for two.
