GT is Back!Jaruka wrote:"Some news live from the Japan Expo from our correspondents that will please and please do not let's start with what does not please. The gameplay has been completely redone and is much more accessible than before, and not only in story mode, apparently even in the Vs mode, Sharnalk was completely disoriented by the new gameplay, they made a 360 degree turnaround and QTY exist even in Vs mode So this will greatly divided the fans and especially those that swear by a technique not accessible gameplay.
The good news, the game is very fluid, the destruction of the scenery as you have seen are very impressive, we can now choose to send an attack, there are two types of combat in the demo mode or you Vs Goku , Bejita, Cell C-18 .... and the story mode against Bejita Oozaru, besides Goku fights against him shirtless, so loyalty aside clothes that will be respected. The graphics are very similar to those of Sho Dragon Ball Z on PS2 (which does not displease).
The fight against Bejita Oozaru, already you can not move about as you wish, you are limited in movement, but it's very very true to the anime is undeniable.
Despite this transfer the total gameplay the game is very fun to play, a lot of naruto storm in (a little Sasuke Vs Itachi fight) where events snap, as I said the same is the case in VS .
Again no original music, and we shall never have the original music.
It's a shame but it seems that once again was a total disappointment.
Oh last point of what I remember, the characters in GT for those who love (especially the U.S. will be participating).
Thank you to Tba77 for the information!"
Report from someone there, take it with several pinches of salt for now.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussio
1. The new graphics looks pretty nice, although yes some of the moves look the same [but if they got the right thr first time, you cant change much]
2. With ALL this focus on the Saiyan Saga, I'm also highly worried that all of the other sagas won't get the same attention to detail as this one.
3. The Oozaru vs Goku fight made me miss the Sweet cutscenes from B1; but overall this looks like a different game than just "Raging Blast 3" so I'll stay optimistic.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussio
They're most likely still building the other sagas plus not many would allow for this 'huge boss/cutscene/QTE' bragging that they're doing. The reason they're showing the Saiyan saga is that right now it's the most impressive.LeprikanGT wrote: 2. Re: Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussio
I guess I could roll with that explanation for now, since Oozaru Vegeta [in one form or another] is the only giant villian in the series that is a giant.
Hellooooooooooooo all 13 movies for once, plus the movie specials, let's get a complete Z story for this 'Ultimate Tenkaichi'.
Typing out that name kind of makes this game sound like the last one or something; I wouldn't like that.
Also, how do you get to that facebook page? And that crater/mountain disappearing looks pretty nice on that scan.

I'm still not convinced, Namco Bandai, I'll believe it when I see it.

I interpreted the "will have the original music" statement as "we will not be replacing the score from whatever appears in the Japanese version of this game".

If that was true then it would be a very insidious move overall..

Is the JP soundtrack stuff from the show or do they just make stuff up to put into the background of fighting? [not refering to the theme song of the game]

Every game is different. Some games (Sparking! and Raging Blast games) had music from Shunsuke Kikuchi's score for the TV series, while other games (Burst Limit and the Budokai series) had original music composed for them.LeprikanGT wrote:Is the JP soundtrack stuff from the show or do they just make stuff up to put into the background of fighting? Yes, thus the concern about the new, upcoming game having the "original music" because, in the case of some of these games with the Kikuchi score, it was replaced in the international versions.

The trailer was OK, I wasnt really expecting that much its just the second trailer and there was nothing really new that I saw as far as combat. But what I did like was of course the stage/planet destruction and I also like the detail in Goku's battle damaged.

Spike has been doing that for YEARS ROTFL!!!!! I didnt really catch on to it until I think the first Raging Blast.Rostir wrote:In this trailer, they clip together different attacks to make it seem like we can do those combos in the game.

Hmm, bit of an eclectic trailer isn't it?
Note the only difference between first and second screen shot is the emblem, yet it's the same overall outfit.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussio
After going to sleep once I posted the first set of news, and waking up to more of it, as expected,...I'm kind of disappointed.
The roster revealed so far isn't that bad I guess, but I'm still a little upset. When I first saw the Saibaiman, I originally thought they would leave in everyone they had in Raging Blast 2. But now I'm rather fearful for some of the lesser characters after I learned that they have removed SS3 Vegeta and SS3 Broli. The removal of the what-ifs also leaves me fairly hopeless for SS3 Trunks, though I suppose SS Bardock could still be in seeing how Episode of Bardock is supposed to be an official sequel to the TV special. For now, I'm disappointed. Removing characters just gives them another crappy marketing tool for when/if they decide to add them back in.
As for gameplay, I'm not sure what to think until I see some actual videos. The implementing of quick time events in normal versus combat seems iffy to me, but until I see it in action I can't praise it or complain about it. Though I've read that the control have disoriented players, and I'm not sure that is a good thing.
I am kind of happy about boss battle though, and the character selection screen looks pretty good. I'm happy that it looks like we can see which costume we pick before starting the match again, but I have no idea what the hell they are doing with Goku's clothes. Using the Cell/Buu Arc dogi, but then tearing it to shreds or adding a symbol to it...hopefully their smarter than that. Bright side, destruction looks good.
In short, I'm still one big bag of mixed feelings.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussio
Double post, but this is info base, not opinion. Translated from the original language via google.
Apart from its name seems to reveal a hint of the ultimate Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi is not so "Ultimate" it's seen the shortcomings of the game, crash bugs, a nonexistent story mode, characters that are not so complete it, one rotten marketing, music catastrophic ... Oh wait, I'm wrong game, I am told that this is the sheet Raging Blast 2. So, this suite of spiritual Tenkaichi Will it really last?
Of the action you want, here!
The first contact with this demo is ... how to say ... spectacular! Full of action, the demo that allows you to play two modes: Oozaru against Vegeta and VS (next paragraph), turns out to be complete. Let's start with the story mode, Goku against Vegeta Oozaru. The combat is very dynamic, and when I talk about energy and action, I mean different kinematics coupled with Quick Time Event, you know, those times when you must press the keys indicated on the screen. Variance with the rule of combat simple, Boss Battle proves quite laborious, not the wrong way, but in the right! As if we were really faced with a giant enemy! In short, this first part of the demo is very successful.
Super arcade to the rescue!
If the game away from its predecessor, however, it is close to the arcade, where we are assisted by buttons to choose from. This is what it seems, put forward in the VS mode of the demo. We can play as Goku, SS Goku, Vegeta, 18, Cell, Freeza, Trunks (with sword), Saibaiman, or Broli. From the first tutorial, we feel that developers are tired of the gameplay, and have therefore changed in favor of a simpler gameplay. Let's start with the graphics, approaching enough of the anime, the fights are just as pêchus, and nervous, while the Ultimates destroy any part of the scenery. There are two gauges, the gauge of energy for the simple techniques and kikohos, and the gauge "Spirit" we must meet in combat to start an Ultimate, these super-destructive techniques. So back to the gameplay, we can choose between three options: interception (triangle), dodges (square) or defense (round) when the enemy attacks us. It is a choice quite radical but well applied, it does not cut too much action.
Welcome to the new era ...
We wish to welcome a new era for Dragon Ball, which is updated with an almost complete and final version, via a redesigned graphics engine, characters that make us feel powerful, and gameplay completely opposite of the last offer. Although the roster will be cut by at most 30 characters included transformations (replaced by the characters of the saga GT), the Dragon Ball than offset by its story mode extremely faithful to the manga and anime, and this, in detail. A bomb approaching so.
In addition to graphics undeniably superb, Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi adopts an unprecedented new gameplay, and its possibilities bode the best in fun. Especially since the game will trace the adventures of Goku's arrival Raditz until the death of Ii Shenron, to Freeza, Buu and Baby. A pleasant surprise, then, that raise the profile of the series, since dirty Burst Limit.

Where did they say that they took out the SSJ3s? Also that 30 characters thing is a mistranslation or misunderstanding, it is 30 NEW characters in addition to the Raging Blast 2 characters. Anyone could figure that out if you tried to make a character list going from the beginning of Z through GT with only 30 slots including transformations(Counting the like 15 we already know are in the game)
