Yeah, except when you factor in that the success paled in comparison to Z, it was unpopular in both America AND Japan, it was not written by the creator and writer of the entire other part of the series, and a large portion of even the most hardcore Dragon Ball fans have not seen half the series. It exists, and I'm not saying it shouldn't be included, but NEVER over the original series. While some may see the Dragon Ball characters as too weak to compete with Z, characters like the Shadow Dragons, Super 17, and SS4 Gogeta make most of the Z characters look like ants.

The only GT characters I would like to see are General Rilld, all the forms of Bebi, Bebi Vegeta, Super 17 and the rest of the Shadow Dragons. Ledgic would be pretty cool as well but I don't think he is popular enough to be added into the game.

It's been thirteen years. Dragon Ball GT is as much a mainstay in Dragon Ball as one can get. This exclusionist attitude towards a significant piece of the franchise just doesn't work anymore.
I don't deny that GT is a mainstay in Dragon Ball at this point. But is it more of a mainstay as DRAGON BALL?

That's my beef with it. Sure GT can stay, but so can the series it's continuing. Because, (don't forget, people) since they're going closer to the manga, it's all DRAGON BALL from start to finish....and you're already excluding nearly 16 volumes while adding....GT.
Whether or not it's more of a mainstay doesn't really matter here. They know people want to play as GT characters, which haven't been featured in a game since...2007? How many games has the first sixteen volumes' characters had? Three on the DS and a Wii game.

I understand that, but I find if anything gets excluded it's the original Dragonball. But I think the main problem is when BT3 had every character, then we go back to less; many fans are seeing it as a downgrade. This is a problem that seems like their may not be a fix for.
Dragon Ball characters aren't the ones featured in all of three games, it's the Dragon Ball GT characters.

Well, We still got Dragonball in BT2 and 3. I just ain't big on GT and I'd rather have many of the characters from Dragonball.
My favourite art style (and animation) outside Toriyama who worked on Dragon Ball: Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru, Masaki Satō, Minoru Maeda, Takeo Ide, Hisashi Eguchi, Katsumi Aoshima, Tomekichi Takeuchi, Masahiro Shimanuki, Kazuya Hisada

I would love to have the rest of the RR army cast in the game.

I MYSELF have wanted GT characters, but that's not the problem either. They claim they want to make the experience closer to the manga, while naming the game DRAGON BALL Z and excluding everything before and adding the Movies and GT.

(If anyone wants to make the argument the Z portion is longer, i can agree there. But GT is 64 episodes, and ended with that for a reason)

I almost feel like that argument went out the window when we got Arale (not even that much of a DB character herself)

Well there arent that many DB characters to begin with unless you wanna count Bacterian, Ranfan, King Chappa and other minor characters in that portion of the series. Besides kid Goku and Daimaoh most of the DB roster cant pull of those mega energy blast that this game seems to be focusing on. Now I know Roshi blew up the moon but hes been around throughout the entirety of the DragonBall series so he doesnt really count as a DB exclusive character imo.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Piccolo Jr, Tao Pai Pai, Piccolo's henchmen, Ma Jr (as in his demon move set) etc.

I liked having DB child Goku playable. Arale had novelty to her as a playable character. It'd also be nice to have 23rd Tenkaichi Budoukai Chi-Chi available. Any of those three as bonus characters would work for me.

I prefer hand-to-hand combat over beam battling.
On hiatus.

I'm pretty sure every non-giant character in this game will be equally capable of hand-to-hand combat. The earlier characters will just be lacking in other, more vital areas of combat.

The costume used in the demo is the right one (Saiyan saga's costume with ripped top). Only the trailer and the V-Jump scans (and some screenshots) have the wrong one.

No it isn't, it is still the Cell Arc belt/wrap thing. Every shot of Goku has been of the Cell Arc costume, even though they damaged it and tried to add his earlier symbols to it, but it is still the wrong clothing.

It's the right costume. Just watch that video, for example, at 0:38.

To be the right one, it should have the belt and not the band... It seems to have the belt, although looking Goku from the back suggests that it may be band...

Anyway... Will this game be enough "ultimate" to have at least all the costumes Goku had in Tenkaichi 3?

I'm doubtful...

I'm more worried about characters FIRST. After the roster, I can worry about which accesory Goku has on that day.

It's not gonna be "ultimate" enough to have all the characters or cover all of the story, much less have all the costumes...

In the demo he has the right belt.

Unrelated to your post. On the topic of GT characters, they fit in a DBZ fighter better than DB characters, I always thought it was weird to see Dragon Ball characters flying around and teleporting. I personally think that even though GT is the worst of the 3 it is still enjoyable and I do like a lot of the character designs.

To be fair, the Storm series which many are saying how a anime game should be done has taken many liberties with Naruto character roster and story. The Naruto fans in general haven't been complaining about every little story detail in the game but rather have focus on the gameplay aspects on the game rather than demand a ultra perfect story plus great gameplay and character rosters. But then again they have developed a system for the character rosters so fans are relieved on that to some point. The only complaint character wise was the exclusion of pt.1 Naruto but considering memory usuage and the focus being Pt.2 many understood to a point and pt.1 will be making a return in Storm Generation. Honestly if I had to choose a anime community to develop games for, Dragon Ball would be at the bottom of my list. If Spike is leaving the DBZ franchise then good because no one on both sides of the line came out happy or satisfied any way.

That being said Spike has caused most of their problems with the fanbase anyway.

Since GT is in do you think they'll add the maps for the fights? For instance Tsufuru II with its pink sky or the island where SSJ4 Goku pushed up the huge pillars against Super 17.

I'm not sure, but the quick time events from the Goku and Oozaru Vegeta fight just look like an attempt to make the cinematic parts of the game/cutscenes more interactive instead of what burst limit did with its drama pieces. Dimps' problem with incorporating non-interactive cutscenes mid battle unnecessarily braking up the flow of the game, which was a huge pain in the arse to keep sitting through while going through the story mode.
