I hope they change the controls up when you fight giant bosses.

And I also want ALL the original characters first even from Dragon Ball. That's why I loved and still love BT3 the most because they gave the weaker characters a chance to be included. But nonetheless I like new what-ifs even if they have no true background story, such as SSJ3 Broly. He looks cool and they gave him cool attacks and that's what keeps me interested in the game in the end. The fun factor.

I really would like to see a group of fans with the same amount of money that Spike gets and then develop a game simultaneously with Spike and then judge which game would appeal to the fans the most.
Money isn't everything. I read a article in Game Informer on another video game aspect the industry official pretty much said that money doesn't fix everything.

Well then Spike should get more time than 1 lousy year as always.

This time they only have a year for a reason, there contract is running out. If they aren't signed again, this will be their last game. The interview did say that even though this may be their last game, all the models and stuff they made can probably be used by the next developer.

While I do kind of think that'd be a little lazy of them to do, but if they used already finished models, then they could devote more time to other aspects of the game. That would kind of allow the next developer more time to work on the game in a way...

Besides character content, did any of those people who had hands on play, actually discuss/describe more important things? like gameplay and the new control setup? All I've read is it's different and is kinda based on Sparking/Tenkaichi controls.

That's the reason why Spike scraped what if forms. They will have a bigger focus on the actual game now.

GT characters and What-If characters are welocome... Bun only if the programmers are VERY complete about the official Z roster... First the manga roster, then even the movies... Cutting 30 characters from the already limited Raging Blast 2 is an insult...

And to me it's more important to have a character like Pui Pui than Broly... I prefer to have a Story Mode that lets me fight a minor enemy with Vegeta than a super powerful enemy to battle with all the cast, but in a What-If story...

And I love what-ifs... But more in the lines of: "What would have happened if Cell would have won?"

And so to play as Cell after the Cell Games and being attacked by Darbula to let Babidi steal my energy and awaken Majin Buu...

Just to make an example...

My only hope here is that the Story Mode is not just match after match followed by small cut scenes, which I can only hope they are putting in the Story Mode consistently and not just the mini-game with Vegeta ape.

I too...

I would love to free raom and being able to form a group taken any of the involved characters and fight the villains...

So that I could defeat (or should I say ass-kick?) Kid Buu with Gohan or Gotenks and fight all the GT villains with Uub!!!

But there are many other situations... For example inside Babidi spaceship... Just play rock-paper-scissors with Goku, Gohan, Vegeta and Kaiohshin and fight the Pui Pui, Yakon and Darbula with any of the four, according to how the rock-paper-scissors minigame went... :D

 Yes, I know these are just dreams... Kaiohshin might hardly be even included in the game...

It's indeed very sad to know that there might never be a complete DB game ever.

Are you really expecting all of that next game? I tend to keep my expectations low so that when the game comes out I am not mad that they didn't meet my high-needs more than year to implement standards. The closest we ever got to free roam was Budokai 3, Tenkaichi 2 and 3(?) After that Story mode has gone back to the Tenkaichi 1 Style of screen select which has not been a very good choice imo.

Well, the second Sparking game's "free-roaming" story mode interface was a pale imitation of Budokai 3's, and didn't leave any really believable doors open, unless you count the generic level-up battles. And the third Sparking game's story mode was screen select.

Just as I thought been awhile. So just Budokai 3 and Tenkaichi 2. But those games were how long? And how many people when doing surveys actually ask for a free roam?

I think all characters are equally important with some having more priority simply because of popularity.

Let's be honest here, the sales on this one will blow Raging Blast 1 and 2 out of the water.

It has "Tenkaichi" in the name, and claims to be "Ultimate".
It's bringing back GT, which translates into more characters.
It brings in Boss Battles with QTE a la Naruto Storm 2 (i assume everyone here is aware of how good that did in sales)
They've made another graphic overhaul, except for the better this time.
The gameplay, from what they put out, doesn't seem to be the same again. (I question how many people will buy it knowing it's "Dragon Ball Z Ultimate Rock-Paper-Scissors Under the Heavens")

And you get a pen shaped like capsule if you pre-order it.

Dragon Ball fans in general will buy them, even if just out of curiosity, because it actually looks NEW. Someone else in this thread said it best, that it'll be the "Final Bout" of this generation. Different, even if not necessarily better, and will mark a pause in Dragon Ball games for a while......hopefully we still get "Dragon Ball: Budokai Heroes" first, though.

:( True...

Give Tenkaichi 3 a COMPLETE Story Mode and it's not that far from it... But after it, the brand has worsen more and more...

I'm expecting less of 1% of what I may dream about this game...

And I'm not even sure my expectations will be barely fullfilled...

As I grow through out the years, I've come to notice greatly that DBZ fans are their own worst enemies. Like nothin' is ever enough ! Especially the majority that don't take responsiblity for their over expectancy. I wouldn't be raging on a forum, losing hair over this DEMO. Let's be real. Spike has done nothing but make great, fun games. Remember FUN ? -lolz- If we look back at where DB games came from (and I'm talking as far back as Ultimate Battle 22, maybe further), and look at where we are now, from a realistic point of view (and not the demented), they've evolved in somthing near perfection.

The only bad/poor DB games I've ever experienced truly were Final Bout, Ultimate Battle 22, Budokai 1 & 2, Tenkaichi 1 and Raging Blast 1. That being said, I've noticed a pattern. Has anyone else ? It's always the first, somtimes second games that are weak. The phrase " 3rd times the charm " speaks volumes with DB games (Budokai 3, Tenkaichi 3). I mostly play hardcore fighting games. That's what I was intensely brought up on. Street Fighter, Marvel and things of that nature. But quite frankly, I wouldn't want that type of play for a DBZ game (although I did enjoy Super DBZ). It's nice to break away.

As far as what I've seen so far... The system looks VERY refreshing, super dynamic, extra fast and FUN. I love how we're always involved even during the cinema-like occurrences. Really has that explosive feel DBZ should have. Blast look like BLAST. Loving that we finally have big candle flame auras. Gameplay looks to have been designed to reduce spamming to an all time low. The graphics are great ! That manga paper texture really gives it that classic, old school feel, which works great considerin' DBZ is the grand daddy of them all. Not super glossy like Burst Limit. That look works better on a Naruto or Bleach game. Besides, how bad can graphics be in this day and age ? I still admire some Dreamcast games. -lolz

I don't like to really get into the petty squabbles of the DBZ community. It really makes me queezy how quick the Debbie Downers roll out, load and pull the trigger on their " Negative Ki Gun ". -lolz- The elitist attitude is so draining.
" I may treasure peace, but I am VERY GOOD at makin' war. " -Ororo Munroe codename: Storm
