Re: Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussio
NO GT STORYMODE??!?! WTF?!
No Oozaru Baby Vegeta bossfight?? Oh man First advertising the game for its unique QTE bossfights against the great apes and then leave out this part.
Disappointing me once again. I bet they'll only put like 3-5 GT characters in like in Budokai 3 just to "satisfy" the GT demands...

They said the main focus will be on Z, but that doesn't mean no GT story.InfernalVegito wrote:NO GT STORYMODE??!?! WTF?!

You made me a bit scared there but after watching the interview they didn't say anything like that.InfernalVegito wrote:NO GT STORYMODE??!?! WTF?!

Oh come, I deeply want to be proven wrong but I think we all know what that means. They will completely neglect GT and simply "add" some characters or the basic fights and that's that. I expected nice QTEb bossfights for GT as well.
And of course they will focus more and mainly on Z because it's way more.

I think he was doing what some people do and combine the Saiyan and Freeza sagas. When you think about it, they can be linked together as a single story arc since they weren't completely separated like the Cell and Buu arcs were.Jaetinh wrote:You made me a bit scared there but after watching the interview they didn't say anything like that.InfernalVegito wrote:NO GT STORYMODE??!?! Doesn't mean Freeza saga isn't in the game just because they didn't mention that one.

How do you think they will handle rush moves this time around (since they decided to take out the option to simply move out of the way of an attack)?

I don't know if this video was posted already but here's an in-depth look at the game play.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussio
Clipping is SUCH a common thing in pontentially all 3D video games. Is that what this is about ? People should be numb to that kind of thing now. That scene is all of what ? 1.5 seconds ?! Again, I believe people expect way too much. Spike shouldn't even make games anymore more.... Spike should just send their blood to those in a saucer. Anywho.... I have nothing to say until the game is IN MY HANDS. Youtube don't cut it. That's a fools approach.VegettoEX wrote: Look at the clipping in the character outfit with the shoulder cutting through the armor. This has been happening for years, and it's because they're still using the same basic models and animations they created back in 2005. It has a shiny coat of paint on top, but the underlying code and rendering is exactly the same... resulting in presentation issues that should have been solved years ago.
Look at Gohan's hand grasping his arm -- because it's not. It's bulky, it's not actually making contact, and it's just kinda floating in the appropriate space. Again, this is because they're using the same shit from 2005 to create this new game.
Both of these examples are tiny. I get that. They don't affect the overall "game play" or anything like that. The fact that they're still there six years later shows just how much Namco-Bandai cares about this franchise, though. Spike is not given time to breath on anything they do with the series, and it results in sub-standard crap shoved down everyone's throats from 2005 to 2006 to 2007 to 2008 to 2009 to 2010 and now to 2011.
Your response is filled with semi-contradictions, too. They're not a great developer, so why expect something good?! They have perfected it, so it'll be fine / decent enough! You can't have you cake and eat it too with Spike / Namco-Bandai / DBZ.
I don't know about the rest of you, but after tossing my money down year after year, yeah, I think I have the right to demand and expect something that's not just the same fighting engine and character models from a game I spent $50 on six years ago and each subsequent year after that (actually $75, 'cuz I bought the JP versions of all the Sparking! games), sometimes updated with "double-tap X to dash behind your opponent this year!" and "we're adjusting that coat of paint on top to say it looks like the anime and then the manga and now the manga and maybe the anime and oh geeze I don't even know what to call it this year".
I'm not expecting "change" from Spike on this. I'm well aware of what this game is and what it will likely end up as. Doesn't mean I can't articulate precisely why it's likely terrible and how it arrived there: it's yearly contracted franchised cash-grab #6 from this developer. If they still want our money at this point, I'm gonna need a little sumthin'-sumthin' more.
Story mode at this point is just an extra. I only play through it a couple times upon purchase, after that, I make my bed in VS.Mode. So be it thorough or not, I won't be in it for long.InfernalVegito wrote:NO GT STORYMODE??!?! WTF?!

I really doubt they mean character creation in the way some people are taking it. I'd bet they just mean you can fully customize the characters from the roster. They did say no what-if characters, and I think character creation falls under that category.mysticboy wrote:Character creation?

If they do mean true character customization, perhaps I can finally create some off the official characters that are missing...

I don't think the description pertains to editing pre-existing characters. They would've mentioned the slightest hint towards it.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:It isn't like this is the first time they'd mislead us...ShinMassa wrote:TheDevilsCorpse wrote:"Complete Character Creation & Customization"

Complete Character Creation & Customization – Appearance and attributes can be customized such as model body, face, hair, attire, fi ghting style and more! Additionally fi ghting style and special moves can be selected.TheDevilsCorpse wrote:It isn't like this is the first time they'd mislead us...ShinMassa wrote:"Complete Character Creation & Customization"
They are explicitly saying that it is actual character creation.

This sounds too good to be true...but if it is, I will definitely buy this game.
That, and they have explicitly said in the past that the Japanese "have no interest in that sort of thing".

Yeah we've been bamboozled plenty if not every time in past about create a character, but we'll see as time goes on. I was going to buy this game anyway unfortunately but if this is actual create a character then not only would I get excited but that would also be very sneaky on Spike's part.

Yes, unless you add the body/hairstyle customization to the costumes and super...goku the krump dancer wrote: Wow, So you actually prefer Goku Early,Mid and Late apposed to just one Goku with all the costumes and customisable super moves?
Early Goku has a less adult-like body than Mid and Late...
Then the hairstyles for base SSJ and FP SSJ should be as different as you all know...
So make me choose Goku's look, hairstyles, costumes and supers and it's better than Early, Mid and Late...
Saiyan saga is to Freezer saga what Androids saga is to Cell saga...funrush wrote: I think he was doing what some people do and combine the Saiyan and Freeza sagas. And if any "piece" of the existing characters is available, it would be possible even to make custom versions of the existing characters... Like the End of Z versions...
