Re: DeadlyChestnut's "Universe F" fan comic
Last night I read the whole thing up until now (thank you guys for posting the pages here, because the laptops we have to use now simply won't load deviant art.. some kinda weird java issue or SOMETHING but it's never worked). All in all, it looks solid. The change in art doesn't bug me as much when it's color. The one non-colored page in the new style was a little off putting though. But seeing Freeza slam his tail on the ground with Dodoria's fright really sold me over on the new art style. I don't mind it a bit, as long as she keeps up her awesome color work, the art will remain solid.
Also, this may sound extremly silly to most of you, but I think girls write the best fanfic... so I'm looking forward to where the story may end up going. I don't know why either, I've tried my hand at fanfic, and I even have an ongoing CYOA at another board, but I've just never seen any male write a fanfic for any genre better than females typically do.
It's weird, because it's a phenomenon that exists only for fanfiction... in all other aspects of authoring, males and females seem to be on equal footing. But for fanfiction... yeah, I don't know why it always seems to be that way

I like the way everyone looks in this art style except for Vegeta...and I'm guessing any other Saiyans/human-like characters.

Our esteemed author/artist has only begun and probably has not nailed Vegeta's look just yet. Still she captured Vegeta's smug sense of satisfaction quite well IMO.batistabus wrote:I like the way everyone looks in this art style except for Vegeta...and I'm guessing any other Saiyans/human-like characters.

I love the newest page. The pacing was quite nice and the way Freeza whipped his tail was very cool.
I know what you mean, it seems that (most) women write the better fanfics than men do. This is something I noticed after years of reading fanfiction myself. I wonder why that is? What is it about us that makes us so incredibly awesome?SuperForteX wrote:Also, this may sound extremly silly to most of you, but I think girls write the best fanfic... so I'm looking forward to where the story may end up going. I think it has something to do with empathy. When you're writing an original work, you don't need a keen sense of empathy. But when you're writing a fan fiction, you have to be able to project yourself into a character's head accurately, so that you can convey the characters true to their canon representation in a believable sense to the reader. I guess this makes it easier to produce a genuine representation of characters we already know and love, which is why it's a factor for fan fiction but not original authoring.Scarz wrote:I love the newest page. Chapter 2 - Page 11:

Not much happening, but it is a new page. Also, there's a typo in the last panel. See if you can find it.

Actually, chessboard is one word. However, you are correct about the two S's.Zionist wrote:Chess board* Two words, two 'S' 's in Chess

Well, I guess you can't really blame her every now and then. XD She mentioned once before that English isn't her native tongue.

Finally a new page! As usual, Freeza's as smug as ever.
Re: DeadlyChestnut's "Universe F" fan comic
Well, this will be interesting. Does this forsee a possible Freeza vs. Coola fight?

I prefer the second version, it "flows" better.
Awesome art.
