If Faulconer Production's music was in a new videogame what tracks would you select?

They actually have been in games. If I'm not mistaken, the four games were Legacy of Goku 2, Buu's Fury, Taiketsu, and Collectible Card Game. All of these were on the GBA.

Depends on the story arc, but I'd make variable\interactive versions of whatever was used.

ie:

or more Faulconer Productions sounding

Faulconer music is what I've always wanted in a DBZ game. It's funny, even the people who generally don't like the Faulconer score tended to praise how well it worked in Legacy of Goku 2 et al. (by the way, the main theme partially was used in the first game as well).

Back in the day, one of the biggest criticisms of the Faulconer score was that it sounded like a video game and thereby changed the nature of the series compared to what the Kikuchi score sounded like. Logically, if it sounds like a video game score, it would make sense that it works as a video game score.

I am curious about something with this, though. I know in the Funi-Faulconer settlement, Funi is still able to use his music in airings and on home video releases. Are games included in that agreement, or would Faulconer have to receive some additional royalties for its use?

Funny that you ask that. I'm working on a speedrun of a game called Dragon Warrior II, and since that game had artwork by Akira Toriyama, I figured I'd spruce it up with some Team Faulconer music.

:( You just made me feel old. You referred to it as "a game called Dragon Warrior II" in clear recognition of the fact that many younger readers won't have heard of it before! God, I remember that game from when I was like 8 or 9 back in the mid-1990s when I was desperate to find something to play on my NES. That was one of the games that made me fall in love with RPGs. Are you playing it on the NES or are you using the GameBoy Color version (which had artwork and designs more clearly recognizable as Toriyama's)?

More pertinent to the topic, I'll note that around the time the Faulconer CDs started coming out and I started buying them, a friend gave me a copy of the original Roller Coaster Tycoon. I spent hours and hours playing that game during the summer of 2002 or 2003, and much of that time was spent listening to the Best of DBZ CDs. I didn't have access to the expansion packs at that time, so I was stuck with the in-game Merry-go-Round and bumper car music, which gets old quick. Faulconer Productions Music was my little unofficial RCT soundtrack for the time I spent playing it.

I've always said that 17 is your prime. After 17, you're officially "old." And after 21, you tend to be less "fun" because all of the stuff that was cool because you weren't supposed to do it (like drinking, for example) isn't as cool anymore because you can do it, but lack the tolerance for it. Aging sucks!

Nah, your prime is somewhere in your 30's I believe, or at least physically, that's your prime. Also, I'm doing it on the NES version.

hmm, for me the hump was probably 21 :) Actually my freshman year of college was the most fun.

And just so I'm not completely off topic, I had never heard of Dragon Warrior. Not because I was too young, but tool old instead. Err that's still not on topic actually...FAIL

I kinda said my piece about music depending on the story. Hyperbolic TIme Chamber had some pretty cool general action music. I'd probably make sure that was in the game regardless of what was going on :)

Hm, I've changed my mind slightly. I'm still recording the NES version of the game, but I'm going to use the GBC version for the intro, since it's much more cinematic and slightly longer than the NES version.
