You guys think its easy to make games? if you think you can do better then why dont you make your own company & make your own Dragonball game, we'll see if its too easy as you make it out to be, because its NOT, its not easy to make new models, its not easy to give you all the things you guys want, its not easy to take 2 years for development, you guys want precious time put into this game, you think that its that easy to say "hey we are going to make a dragonball game, can we work on it for 5 years?" NO! do you guys know how things ACTUALLY work in the game industry, especially right now in 2011? where games are a demand, thats why COD has a yearly release, you guys dont know the contract duties that Spike has to put up with, so if you dont know (I'm not saying that i know but i know that it mustn't be as easy as you think) if you dont actually know then dont talk like you do, talk if you actually work at Spike/NamcoBandai, only then you'll be able to say something, again if you say "we have a right to demand things, we as a consumer!" cut the crap we are all people that get 60 bucks somehow, go to the store, buy the game & play it, dont exagerate things for goku's sake, if you dont like the game even though we havent seen nothing yet about the full pontential about the game then dont get it, dont talk about it & dont trash it, many like me like it, I'm ready for this game, i dont care if its "reused" thats your opinion, my opinion & the way i look at it is that this game isnt the same game released 5-6 years ago, thats complete BS, clearly you arent looking the game the right way, your just lookin at it expecting the things you dream of, LET ME TELL YOU, its never going to happen, its like asking god a girlfriend that is COMPLETLY the way you want, the way you dream, fantasize of, every detail even with a little scar in --certain area--, its not going to happen the way you want, you just have to shut the hell up & be happy with the little you got, i know many will "we have a right to say what we want" yeah you do , but theres some other people that cant even say nothing (like people that cant get the game for whatever reason *like me when i was a kid, i wanted DBZ LEGENDS very bad but couldnt at the time, yet some guys were trashing it because it wasnt really 3D nor english, i didnt care, i just wanted it!*) , some other people are happy with what they are getting, we arent obligated to buy this game, these people are making these games because they love what they are doing, (many will say "they are doing the same thing the did 6 yrs ago") thats BS, shut up & open your eyes, dont expect to get all the things you desire, cause you wont, it doenst work like that, go complain to mom, cry me a river or shut the hell up, go to a university, become a game developer, get a job at Namco & make the "perfect" DBZ game.

I'll toss my rusty cent into this puty fight going on here, seeing the huge ki blast colliding in this game, i wish the gave the kamehame ha wave, its real roaring sound from the game, it made it feel powerful, i havent heard that sound in a game in a long time, maybe they wont put it in the game but that wont stop me from buying the game & make me cry & complain about it here nor elsewhere.
I make it my buisness to come on this forum at least once a week. And what do I see 98% of the time ? Aneurysms in text form.
The energy spent arguing, nit picking, nerd raging.... ALL THAT, should be put to better use.
They made it a point that the game will have a DEEPER BRAND REPRESENTATION than any other DBZ game, and truth be told, they aren't lying. They certaintly slapped this game with the DBZ stick.
Anyways, hearing about create a character seems very cool. I personally have no desire to create a character, Akira Toriyama's are just enough for me.

After all of this time, you still call what we're doing, "nerd raging". I feel like you're not even reading what we're typing. Did you forget what this is? I make it my buisness to come on this forum at least once a week. And what do I see 98% of the time ? Aneurysms in text form. It's JUST a game. The complaining is so out there that I just have to laugh to myself. It's gotten to a place where I have to minimize my exposure to it. It's almost not healthty being on here. I think it's very unrealistic to cast stones. The game HASN'T even come out yet. People are looking at all the wrong things and not the things they should be looking at. Like, " Will I have FUN ? Will this new enhanced and dynamic gameplay be good ? ". I believe so... certaintly the people playing the barely finished demo do. I didn't see reactions like that for Raging Blast. So lets be calm. Whatever happened to being positive ?

Seriously, if you're considering minimizing your exposure to this forum, and if it bothers you so much, you don't have to sign into the forum. Coming into any forum on the internet created within the past 10 years not expecting small rants and criticism is outlandish.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussio
This was a dead issue until you brought it up again. People are allowed to be negative. Everyone here is (presumably) a big Dragon Ball fan and wants to see it represented well in game form. We've had dozens of games in the past decade alone (with a franchise that's nearly 30 years old), so it's not unreasonable for people to want improvement or progress for the next upcoming game, especially since it could very well be the next Final Bout (as in the end of an era).Shin_Chou_Senshi wrote:I make it my buisness to come on this forum at least once a week. Furthermore, you're practically talking down to anyone that isn't going into this game with blind optimism, and the boss man already gave a warning about haughty attitudes. I'll give one last bit of free advice (to everyone) and say: Don't cross the line between "chill out, guys" and "shut up, whiners."

Yeah I'm not getting my hopes up for it being good or in the game at all, I like most others who are "pro" create a character want it to not only be in the game but a good create a character system alltogether. I dont want create a character to end up being create a skin, if its in the game.NECPS wrote:We should not go too far with the Create a Figther ..
If it comes true .. it will only be the first time ever in a DBZ ...
Boy it should be, already, pretty awsome to customize the size of the character,
the eyes, the hair (bald, goku hair, vegeta hair, trunks hair etc..)
and the vest... gi, saiyajin armor, tsufurujin armor, jacket, city clothes.....
aaaaaaand if it is an alien .. green namekuzeijin rlz!
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

Well, if create a fighter does indeed make it in, I think it'd be a really neat addition. Y'can't deny that it's somehow not something new for the gaming medium of this franchise. As long as it's not broken like the concept was in Mortal Kombat Armageddon (I'm lookin' at you, chicken leg cheaters), then there's nothin' to worry about.
Even though I'm hopeful of that specific feature, I can't help but feel as though the gameplay is the same as it's ever been. What I saw in the latest trailer, fighting wise, I've seen before. There has to at least be a certain set of different moves/combos for every character, in order for this upcoming title to differentiate itself from past Z games and be taken seriously.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussio
Since this franchise recycles basic character fighting styles anyway, to create a character, you'll probably have a few pre-made fighting styles to chose from. Maybe they'll directly reflect some of the main characters, maybe they'll be more generic. I imagine it to be somewhat like the character creator in Soul Calibur 4. In that game, you were also allowed to simply modify one of the playable characters, but still play AS THAT CHARACTER instead of a different identity. Will this game just allow a more flexible modification? Or are we gonna be making new characters from the ground up?

Are you kidding? We have NEVER had gameplay like this before [bad thing]. No other game has taken flowing gameplay and butchered and chopped it up to where you have 87 button promtps on the screen through the course of a battle. And we have NEVER been focred to take on supers and ultimates head on, that limits the game play, where other games have us the option to side step or teleport out of the way and go on the offensive.Ultimate_DB_Fan wrote:Well, if create a fighter does indeed make it in, I think it'd be a really neat addition. Re: Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussio
Yeah, about that dodging thing... Good riddance I think. And it comes from someone who spent his time just moving away from the blast and counter-attacking: too easy. Ultimate attacks should have the intensity the name implies: it should scare you the second the opponent unleashes one. In the previous games, it was more "how lucky, that fool tried an ultimate blast!", the ultimate attacks ultimately became a weakness to exploit with a zero risk factor, the only strategy to make it any efficient being to prevent the opponent to move is a hit in a stomach or so...LeprikanGT wrote: Are you kidding? So I won't say this system's good before I actually test it, but the idea of unleashing my ultimate attack knowing my opponent we'll have to "face it" and that it will impact on his stress because the risk he'll take serious damages is pretty real is interesting. Ultimate attacks just lost their "ultimate" side when it was simply possible to slowly step aside as if it was nothing. The idea of suddenly having a "I'm tired of you running away so I sacrifice a huge part of energy and take a risk while also forcing you to take a risk" is an interesting element to bring to the fight, and it might imply strategy as to when is the right time to cut regular fighting and play all or nothing with the opponent, and quickly devicing strategies depending on the possible outcomes of the game!
So I won't judge too soon, but I just say: that's an interesting concept, let's not spit on it, and let's not glorify it, but let's see what we can strategically do with it when the time comes! I think the only positive point which is already proven to me is that these moments when one of the fighter charges his ultimate will undoubtedly raise the tension, a little similarly to when one of the players suddenly puts all he has during a poker game (I don't know the specific name of this move in your language), as the outcome is forced while also being unsure since it's based on luck and assumptions. But for the rest, I guess we'll have to wait and test it ourselves in battle.

Re: Dragon Ball Z: Ultimate Tenkaichi (Pre-Release Discussio
What I think Spike should is add NEW fight animations to each character. I know that may seem like a lot, but that's their fault, because apparently to them Base and SSJ Goku are two different characters. Now one could argue that no one complains that other fighting games come out and iconic characters still have their same old combos, but the thing with that is, that those other games aren't cranked out every year(?). And when they DO come out, yeah, they have the same combos but they are tweaked, and new ones with brand new animations are added as well. No one's gonna notice Spike's "new" combos if they still use the same five animations and just switch up(?) the order in which they are performed.
It's not too late. One day, it will be.

I just dont want to see the three options the same for every person, like during the Trunks and Btoly fight where he shot blasts at Trunks and it looks like it could have been ANY character there. Each one should be individual.

How many 'unique' combos do DB characters have?

Thats something else they should also fix.
I mean if Goku shoots a blast at you, and you are Vegeta, you have those three options depending on your ki.....I dont want to have the same three options as say Nappa or Piccolo.

The 3 options are dodge, deflect, and struggle. I don't know what other options they could possibly give you.LeprikanGT wrote:Thats something else they should also fix.

Not a lot. It's limited on uniqueness since there's 100+ characters (can't be like MK or SF). However, I'm surprised that RB2 differentiated between the characters as well as it did. I can't think of any fighter (traditional or non traditional) with a roster that big and maintaining that level of uniqueness.Rocketman wrote:How many 'unique' combos do DB characters have?

Has there been yet another trailer released besides the two current ones that show these prompts some of you are talking about?

I hope we won't deal with many spammers since I notice that we did not get many spammers in RB2 when I play it online. I hope to fight against some decent original ones then a what if forms of pre-existing characters.Saimaroimaru wrote:
